It was the first day of reception. I had just gotten into the classroom when I saw a girl who was smiling and she waved at me. I was so nervous but I just smiled back. I didn't know who she was either.
She walked up to me but I just pretended that I didn't see her. She softly said, "Hi, my name is Laiba. What's your name?" I replied back, "Hello, my name is Alishba. Today is my first day and I am a bit scared." She gently tapped her hand on my back and said, "Don't worry it's my first day at school too and I feel worried but it's ok, we all feel like that."
We sat together, we played together and we even ate lunch together. The moment I walked through the doors of my new classroom I knew I wouldn't make any friends but maybe I was wrong. I did make a friend. A very good friend. A very very good friend.
Anyways, when I got home I told my mum all about my day at school and especially about the new friend I had made. My mum was delighted to know that I had a good day and made a friend.
