The Light in the Darkness

Chapter One

The time of day was high noon at a school known as Kisaragi Academy, a school for any and all people and students, mainly the halflings and purebreds that no human knows how to deal with. However, there are some humans in this school, but only the brave of heart even step foot in this school. It was lunchtime and everyone was walking through the halls trying to get to the cafeteria quickly. The only person who was in no rush to move was a punk looking male with spiky black hair and matching purple bangs, his gray eyes scanned the area to make sure he was alone in the classroom. He pulled out his lunch and started to eat his food, normally he would go to the roof but today was a little different, he had a feeling something was going to happen today.

Unfortunately for him he wasn't alone in this classroom, the only other person in the classroom was his comrade's sister, Ruri Kurosaki, and she planted her pale hands on his desk and looked at him, "Yuto! Why don't you ever leave the classroom for lunch?"
"Because I don't like dealing with the others, Ruri... You should know that better than anyone... I live with you and your family after all..."

"Yuto you know you have to make friends with others eventually... High school won't last forever..."

"No but I can sit here and enjoy my alone time with myself and my inner demons..."

"Yuto you're a half demon that is the son of one of the highest demons in the world and you don't even want to make friends?"

"All I need is Dark Rebellion, Shun, and you. I don't need anyone else but you three, my dragon tamer comrades, and protectors of the world..."

"Well you have fun with your solitude, I'm going to hang out with my friends Yuto... See you when class starts again."
Yuto shook his head as soon as Ruri left and he scoffed softly as he messed with his food, "I don't need friends, I never did... I only need my family... Even though you and father are long gone mother, I will stop at nothing and be the brave dragon tamer you wanted me to be..." The male continued to eat his food in his peaceful classroom. Soon his friend, Shun, came in, and he wasn't the happiest person alive, typical for Shun, that's usually how he was regardless of what happens. He stopped in front of Yuto's desk and stared him down, "Yuto you have orders by your captain to not be so rude to your classmates..."

"Well it's not my fault... I don't do good around others..."

"It's because you never even try Yuto... You should at least try making friends come on out of the classroom and actually talk to people other than Ruri and I..."

"First Ruri and now you? Really Shun?"

"We're only looking out for you Yuto... You're our family and that's all we want to do. Now come on let's go to the cafeteria I'm sure you'll meet someone new in our legion today..."

"Wait this isn't a set up is it?" Yuto asked his older brother figure with suspicious eyes, this only made a laugh come out of the other, "why don't you find out? Only one way to find out and that's to come with me..." Yuto rolled his eyes as he finished his sandwich following behind Shun as they headed towards the cafeteria.

When the doors opened Yuto was bombarded with students bickering and conversations, "how do you and Ruri put up with this?!" The eggplant head asked, straining his voice a little bit so his friend could hear him. Shun looked down at his shorter friend and placed his hand on his head ruffling the black and purple locks, "because unlike you, we know how to be social... Now come on our table is this way... I want you to meet some of mine and Ruri's friends..." Yuto begrudgingly followed behind him as he was led to a slightly quieter part of the cafeteria, it wasn't that much quieter, because a banana haired individual was being obnoxiously loud trying to get someone to smile. The two of them stopped walking and Yuto was pushed in front of Shun and the junior introduced him to everyone, "everyone, who is not Ruri, this is Yuto Kurosaki... He's mine and Ruri's adopted brother... He's kind of a loner and a little stubborn... So feel free to talk to him and get to know him..." This caused a groan to escape Yuto as he shook his head and the obnoxious banana haired male came up to him, "nice to meet you, Yuto! I'm Yugo, sophomore, and this over here is Yuya, my freshman brother... He's a little down today, maybe you can help him out...?" Yuto looked at Yuya for a split second and he felt something different from all the other people he's met, "don't I know you from somewhere...?" was the only thing that came out of the freshman's mouth and he quickly looked away too embarrassed to hear the answer. The male, Yuya, looked over at him and he smiled sweetly, his crimson eyes full of light, "yeah we're in the same class, you weirdo..." Yuto was shocked as he looked at him, "wait we are?"

"Yeah we are, I'm Yuya Sakaki, I'm the new student that transferred last week... I can't believe you didn't remember that..." the male with green and red underneath hair said, crossing his arms and feigning being hurt. This caused Yuto to actually look back at Yuya with a smile on his face, "awww I'm sorry Yuya... I don't really pay attention to others... I'll be the first to admit that..."

"Clearly... But that's alright... Maybe now we can hang out together?" Yuya said with a smile giving a wink; his crimson eyes full of happiness now from his earlier sour mood. Yuto noticed this and he couldn't help but smile himself, "yeah, definitely. How does tonight sound?"

"Tonight sounds good to me! But I have some things I have to take care of first before we even go anywhere..."

"It's okay so do I... How about I pick you up at six tonight?" Yuto asked, looking at Yuya smiling a charming smile that melted a lot of people's hearts in the past. This caused a nod to happen from Yuya, "six sounds good to me! Now shall we finish lunch now?" Yuto smirked laughing a little bit, "yeah let's finish lunch..." The punk male actually sat down at the table with everyone and finished his lunch with everyone at the table. This earned a thumbs up from both Ruri and Shun, causing Yuto to just shake his head; he really did love his friends.
