chpt. 4

I don't know how to feel right now, prom is literally tomorrow night, so as you guys remember I am technically a junior in highschool, so this will be my junior prom.

I am so so excited, and I don't know if I should really go all out. When it's my senior prom I want it to be a night to remember.

Jullian hasn't talked to me in two days, and It's really starting to worry me. I texted him and asked why, but he would always reply back that he's busy and he'll get back to me.

While he was on the verge of his freedom, I was kicking it with Khylil. Today's the typical school day, and if you asked me, I'm bored out of my mind right now, and I want to go home, but I need my education, so I'm gonna suck it up and just get through it.

"So out of all this time, you wanna talk to me now, because your boy hasn't been saying nothing, you just forgot about me huh?" Khylil questioned.
"no I have not forgotten about you, I mean I replied every time you texted me"
"and... What's that supposed to mean?, that does not compare to seeing me in person".

"Sarayah was okay with it, she's not complaining" he laughed.
"I mean she is the one that hooked y'all up".
I crossed my arms "sounds like someone's jealous" "jealous of what?, I just missed you that's all".

"Aww I missed you too khy". I gave him a hug
"okay Goldie let off, before we're late for class". "Alright calm down, it's just down the hallway". We grabbed our books and headed down the hallway, and walked into art class.

I saw Jullian on the other side of the room, and he didn't pay me any attention, I didn't let it bother me so I grabbed a seat beside khylil.

"Hey whats up between you and dude?, usually you'll be over there with him"
"honestly I don't even know, he's been acting like that for two days now, and now I just don't seem to care, whatever he has towards me, I don't know where it came from, but he needs to drop it".

"Okay if you say so". I turned back to where the teacher was faced, and started on my work. Minutes passed by and I was finished with my assignment. Across the room, I saw Jullian get up from his seat , and he walked straight out the door.

"You need to figure out what's going on"
"yea I know" and then all of a sudden the intercom came on "all student's please report to the front lawn, all student's to the front lawn".

"Now we have to go out in this heat"
"boy it's not even that hot, take your jacket off". I said
"nah I don't have anything underneath".

I grabbed my stuff and started walking to the front of the building, as soon as we went out, there was nothing going on, but we soon heard drums from afar.

As soon as I looked up they were in front of me, before I could blink I saw my name flashing.
"Is that my name?"
"Yea, I knew I wasn't the only one that saw that''. Jullian walked up towards me with a mic in his hand.

"The only reason why I have been ignoring you is because I didn't wanna get distracted, so that I could plan this. I'm sorry for blowing you off, but it was for good measures and I just want to take the time to ask you, would you go to prom with me?".

By the time he was finished I felt tears going down my cheeks. I saw a girl in the corner of my eye, walking up with some flowers. "So what do you say?" He asked
"yes I'll go to prom with you" people started shouting in the distance, he ran up and gave me a hug, and handed me the flowers.

"Don't ever do that again, I thought I did something wrong" I said
"I'm sorry, it won't happen again I promise"
"thank you this was really nice Jullian"
"your welcome I wanted to make sure it was something to remember".

"It's a good thing I didn't take my dress back"
"why would you do that?" He asked
"you were ignoring me, so I decided I wasn't gonna go" I replied.
"It was that bad?"
"You think?" I said back. Jullian let out a slight chuckle.
"yea, I didn't intend for it to go that way". I laughed "everyone head back to class, shows over" Mr. Jeff shouted.

"Congratulations Kehaulani"
" thank you" we started walking back to class, we waited until the bell rang, so that we could go home. Khylil walked over to me
"congrats Goldie"
"thanks khy"
"so you're going to prom now huh?"
"Yep, have you asked anyone yet?"
" no not yet, it really hasn't crossed my mind".

"Why don't you ask Meaghen, she doesn't have a date, so far she's rejected everyone else, but who's to say she'll do the same to you"

" oh wow, that made me feel better about the situation" he remarked
"how about you ask her after practice, orrr you can ask her now, she's across the hall at her locker".

He turned his head quickly "alright tell the teacher I went to the restroom"
"alright go before she leaves". I watched as he walked up to her and they interacted, Jullian sat in his seat beside me.

"What are you doing?"
"Setting up a date for Khylil for prom" I said
"oh okay, I guess that's what friends are for".

"Brrrrrr" the bell rung.
"Class dismissed" we all walked to our lockers, I went straight over to khy.
"So how did it go, what did she say?"
"She said no" he looked sad. "Oh I'm sorry Khylil, I'm sure there's someone else that would be lucky to go with you".

He started jumping up and down "I'm just playing with you, she said yea, and I got her number"
" don't play like that, and how else did u expect to get in contact with her". He laughed
"oh shut up, but thank you"
"your welcome".

He ran down the hallway "what are you doing right now?" Jullian asked
"I'm gonna head home, so that I could get ready for work, I need to freshen up"
"oh okay, what time do you get off?"
"Nine maybe ten, I told my boss I had prom tomorrow night so I'm gonna put in some hours" I said.

"Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow then" I smiled "cheer up its friday, I'll see you tomorrow night". I gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
