chpt. 5

It's officially prom night, every girl's dream, besides weddings of course, tonight is my night to shine so I'm gonna put my all into this. Me and Jullian's color is green, all because that is my favorite color and he let me pick. My mom decided she wanted to help with my hair and makeup, so I gladly let her, she told me she's been waiting on this moment forever and she couldn't wait another minute.

My mom said she wanted to do light makeup, only because she didn't want me dancing all over the place and something goes wrong.

We're all suppose to meet up in front of the school so that we could take pictures. Brycen and Sarayah are wearing orange, Lance and Katie are wearing yellow, and last was Khylil and Meaghen who would be wearing black.

I can't wait to see everyone dressed up and I hope that I will not forget this night. People from all over the world should go to their prom, this is a part of their childhood they should not miss. Times like this just makes me wanna break down and cry.

"my mom gave me this when I was younger, but now I want to give it to you".

I looked down at the necklace as she put it on me, she clasped it on, I saw that it was a diamond necklace.
"Aww mom this is pretty, thank you". I gave her a hug, she began to cry.

" ma, don't cry"
"I'm sorry, you just look so pretty, I'm proud of you, but most of all this is your big night, and I want you to have fun and also be on your best behavior" I laughed
"I will ma, I love you"
"I love you too baby" I gave her a hug.
"Ok enough with the sentimental, go get ready, your ride should be here any minute".

I rushed out of the room to put on my dress, I decided I was gonna go with this green velvet dress with a slit, I picked out some silver pumps. As I was looking in the mirror admiring myself, I added some gloss to my lipstick and some matching earrings.

My mom called my name from downstairs, I hurried up and grabbed my clutch and put my keys and phone inside, as I was walking downstairs I saw jullian. I had his full attention, and my mom was once again shedding tears.

"Wow you look beautiful" Jullian said
"thank you" I replied.
"Can I get a picture of you two?" My mom says
"Of course" we stood in front of the staircase, once we were done my mom hugged us both and we headed out the door, Jullian grabbed my hand on the way out the door down the steps.
"Have fun kids"
" we will".

We walked to his car "when did u get this" I said admiring his new car
"I already had it, I would use it on special occasions, and I wanted to take my baby for a ride, so I pulled her out of the garage".

"It's nice I like it"
"thank you" he smiled
"come here right quick" he said. I walked over to him "give me your hand" I led him my hand
"now close your eyes". I closed my eyes, and heard the car door opening.

"Okay you can open" he had a corsage in his hand "this is yours beautiful"
"thank you it's pretty" he opened it and put it on my wrist. He walked over to my side of the car and opened the door. Once I was inside he shut the door and got inside the car.

"Alright we should be heading out"
"ok I'll call the rest and tell them were on our way there"
"ok". Jullian pulled out of the driveway, and we drove our way to the building we were having our prom.

Once we were there, Jullian once again opened the door for me and we waited by the car for the rest of the group. I saw them walking towards us.
"wow I never saw you so dressed up" Sarayah says.
" well maybe I just felt like going all in". I looked around and said.
"we all look too good for us not to take a picture" Katie, lance's date said.

"Yea lets do that" I replied. We all made our way to a spot where we could take individual and group pictures, and we handed the phone to someone who passed by. "Alright all y'all ready to head in" Jullian asked.

"yea let's go" Lance spoke up. We walked into the building and all you could hear was the loud music, and see people dancing all over the place, even the teachers were trying to get down.

I laughed out loud "so this is what we walk into" I asked "girl I don't care lets go dance bae" Sarayah and Brycen wandered off and Meaghen and Khylil were right behind them.

"Do you wanna dance?" Jullian asked "yea lets go have fun". We walked to the center of the dance floor and I grabbed a hold of Jullian, we rocked from side to side, he grabbed a hold of my waist, I laughed it kinda tickled.

I stopped caring and just let loose, I wanted to have fun tonight and that's all that mattered. Time flew by and we were tired "do you want some punch?" Jullian asked
"yes thank you"
"ok I'll be back" I went to go find a seat.

"Are you having fun?" Khylil asked as he walked over to me
"yea what about you?".
"Not so good, I should have never come" he said "what?,why?". I was shocked.

"Meaghen kept staring at some dude, so I told her to go with him, she kept telling me she wasn't, but I clearly saw her and told her to get out my face".

"Kye I'm so sorry"
"don't be, look I'm gone head out, goodnight" I gave him a hug and watched as he left. I kinda felt bad for him, I never knew meaghen could be such a hoe, and has to need other male attention than the one in front of her.

Jullian finally came "here you go"
"thank you"
"your welcome". We sat down and talked, the DJ came over the speakers.

"Ok, this is for all the couples out there, lets get it going, if you don't have anyone just grab someone and keep it moving".

Jullian grabbed my hand, I put my arms behind Jullian's neck and he rested his hands on my waist. We swayed side to side and looked at each other and smiled.

"I'm glad you said yes, I wanted to experience this with you and no one else"
"aww babe you're gonna make me cry and mess up my makeup, that was so sweet".

"No really I honestly am glad that you came, if I wouldn't have met you, I definitely would not have been thinking about showing up, you can ask anybody around here, I haven't given any of these girls the time of the day, but I could see you weren't like the rest".

"Was it because I wasn't chasing you like the rest of them?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Something like that". I pushed him, we both laughed.
"With all seriousness, I'm glad you came into my life Kehaulani, and I fully feel like I can put all my trust into you". He looked at me for a while and leaned in and kissed me.

"What was that for?"
"Once again for being there for me and accepting me as me". We danced until the music was over and it was finally time for King and Queen, we all lined up front, and our announcer came to the stage.

"It was so fun having all you guys and gals that came out, but it's time to announce this year's prom King and Queen, can we get a drumroll please..........so here it is and our 2020 prom queen is "Sarayah anderson!!".

We cheered her on "woooh go Sarayah" I yelled as she walked up the stairs to the stage. I clapped my hands as they put the crown on her head and a sash and some roses. "Our 2020 prom King is Brycen williams". They put the crown over his head and him and Sarayah shared a dance. Once we were done, we all gathered our things and headed to our cars.

"Hey has anyone seen Khylil?" Meaghen walked up to us and asked.
"He left" I said
"what?, he was my ride home, now how am I gonna get home?"
" How about you go ask Deondre since you were interested in him the whole night" I remarked.

"Whatever" she huffed, as she walked off. "Wow how dumb can she be?" Sarayah asked
"right" I replied back. The night was finally over, Jullian dropped me off , not before sharing another kiss.

I used my key to get inside and I walked up the stairs to my room to take a shower. After that I was ready for bed, but before I did that, I gave my mom a kiss on the forehead before walking into my room.
