One day a few years ago I was watching tv, this show came on, I watched and watched. There was a character I fell in love with, cant quite remember her name. My heart sank whenever she came on screen.
I asked my mum why and she said,
"Erin, I think you're lesbian, how long has this been going on?"
''For ages'' I told her.
I didn't know how to come out to the rest of my family , my nan is homophobic and so were some of my friends, I told my friends that I knew were in the community, I spoke to people online, to my therapist, i got the same answer every time,
"Be you, and thats their opinion so what if they think its 'wrong'"
So I did come out
People bullied me, but I gained friends and lost some too. But I was confident, I was happy. And I still am!
But the conclusion of this story is.
TV made me gay.
