After the party
As the UA students started cleaning up and heading back to their dorms, Izuku collapsed against a wall. He had a splitting headache, and just wanted to lie down. He struggled back up to his feet, knowing it was polite to help the rest of the students and teachers clean up. From across the room, Shoto saw him using the wal to help him walk. He jogged over, highly concerned.
"Izuku, are you okay?!" He asked. Izuku grinned weakly.
"Im fine, Sho. Don't worry about--" He grunted, and sank to his feet, clutching his head. "Dont worry about me Sho. I'm fine!" Shoto helped him to his feet again, Izuku put his arm around Shoto's shoulder for support.
"You're obviously not okay! Let's get you outside for some fresh air," he said gently. Izuku waved everyone goodbye, and they headed out. After a couple minutes of taking in the cool night air, Izuku kissed Shoto's cheek.
"I'm fine now Sho. Go back inside and get some rest, i'm going to take a walk,"
"Are...are you sure?" Shoto asked worriedly.
"Yes," Izuku said, as he made his way down the steps. "I have my phone on me, so I'll call you if anything happens!" Shoto watched as the boy walked down the road. Reluctantly, he headed back inside.
As Izuku strolled down the path, he thought about how to tell his mom. He also wondered if the class would accept them, he knew that gays were discriminated in Japan. As his mind wandered off, his thoughts were interrupted by a hand grabbing his neck. He activated his power lmost immeadiately.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! Take it easy, i'm not going to hurt you, just walk with me," a raspy voice said. Izuku strained his eyes to catch a glimpse of the face. When he saw who it was, his face went pale.
"Shi...shigaraki?" He trembled. The man laughed.
"Don't give me any of your bullshit kid, and you'll get back just fine," Shigaraki said. They walked in silence for a bit, before Shigaraki led him down a creepy alleyway. "I want you to meet a...friend of mine," he muttered. "The boy's name is Shinja Shinsoka, all I want you to do is look him in the eye, and wait, got it?" Izuku nodded, trying to keep a straight face. They walked farther down the alley, until they came to a turn. In a corner, there were 3 people talking. Izuku noticed a small child in the corner; he looked about 5 years old. He was sitting with his head down, his hands seemed to be tied behind his back.
"Hey, everybody! I got our targe-- er, i mean, guest!" Shigaraki said. He recognized them all, they were the League of Villains. A girl he recognized as Himiko Toga spun towards him.
"Oh my gosh! Izuku! You're here!" She giggled. "You know, i could make him a lot cuter if you let me! Everyone looks better when they bleed!"
"Shut up, giggles," Dabi snapped. Izuku laughed nervously. Shigaraki led him to the boy, kicking him awake.
"Wake up, shrimp! Midoriya, this is Shinja. Shinja, Midoriya" He growled. "Just use your stupid quirk on the kid, and we can send you home. Remember what we rehearsed,"
"Im....im sorry!" Shinja said, as he looked Izuku in the eye. Suddenly, a dim orange glow surrounded Izuku. He blinked, and when he opened them again, he was surrounded by darkness.
"Hello?" he called out, but his voice only echoed. He looked around, and the ground was covered entirely by a 2 inch layer of water. All of a sudden, the boy from earlier appeared. He looked Izuku in the eye.
"Why do you want to be a hero?" He asked, in Shigaraki's hoarse voice
"Well, I guess because they save people, and help those around them?" Izuku stammered
"If a citizen dies, will a hero feel guilty? Or sad?"
"W-well, yes, i guess so,"
"What about the the so-called 'villains'? If a villain dies, do the heroes mourn?"
"N-no, b-but that's because villains hurt people!"
"Ah, but why do villains hurt people?"
"Because....that's how they get what they want,"
"And tell me this, Izuku Midoriya, if villains hurt people to get what they want....what is the difference between a hero and a villain?" Shinja asked. Izuku opened his mouth to speak, but only noises came out. What was the difference? He felt like he couldn't control his thoughts anymore...where were these beliefs coming from?
"What is this?! Whats your quirk?" Izuku cried.
"My quirk is Believer. I can take control of anyone's thoughts, and make them believe anything I choose! And the best part? By taking anyone's hand, i can let them speak with me if I choose! Izuku Midoriya, now that you think about it, isn't it better to be a villain? To get whatever your heart desires?"
"I.....I don't know.." He questioned. Shinja chuckled.
"Well, it was nice seeing you, Midoriya. If you ever want to join us, you'll know where to go! Oh, and take these, they might...come in handy," He said, tossing Izuku a pair of blades. A searing pain went through his body, and he appeared outside the dorms. He staggered in, his mind blank. As he headed towards his room, Shoto rushed out of the kitchen.
"Where were you?!" He whisper-yelled. Izuku looked up at him, puzzled.
"On my walk?....."
"I thought you left at 9! Its 1 in the morning! I came to check if you had gotten home safely, and you weren't in your room! I've been up for hours, and i was just about to alert the police!" Shoto hissed. Izuku started to cry.
"Im so sorry! It won't happen again! I guess I just lost track of time, please don't leave me, I'm sorry, I really am!" He cried softly. Shoto's face softened, as he pulled the boy into a hug.
"Izu, is everything okay? Did something happen?" He whispered.
"No...no! Its fine, I guess my anxiety kicked in a bit..."
Anxiety? Shoto thought. SInce when did Izuku have anxiety? Shoto lead him back to his room, and sat there for a bit, looking around. Only when Izuku was sound asleep did he leave.
Something was wrong.
Something had happened.
And he was going to find out.
No matter what.
Hehehe Shoto is suspicious
