Naozumi stares into the abyss. His fork picking on the steak, now cold. He has lost his appetite, again. He sighs, sets his fork down with a clink against the plate and stands up, giving a very much fake smile to the hand-maiden. "It seems i've lost my appetite." The hand-maiden gives a fake smile back. "Again. It's been 7 months, young majesty. Maybe it is time to let time bury those memories and focus on your health firs-" "Enough, Maika. I appreciate your concern but i'm quite capable of handling myself. Please tell Yamato that the fencing session will continue as usual." The hand-maiden gives a subtle nod. "Yes young majesty..." She said, more like whispered. And with that, the whitette disappeared into the halls, heading straight to his room.
Naozumi's POV
I close the door, slowly sliding my back against it till i'm sitting on the carpet floor. I bring my hands to my face, taking a deep breath before letting my tears stain my cheeks. Stressfully, i ruffle my own white locks, occasionally tugging at them, locking my fingers in them as i let out a silent scream. How could Maika say that? I sit there for what felt like half an hour, staring at my room that has now gone dark. Wait, dark? I glance at the clock and it's now a quarter past 7. Have i really been sitting here for 2 hours? I hastily got up and walked to the vanity, setting my palms on the table while i stare at my face. The tear stain, the messy hair, the eye bags under my eyes. I sigh and walk to the bathroom to freshen up. I really look like a mess.
I lie down on my bed, face flat before groaning. Where did it all go wrong? Ah yes. I know exactly where. I roll over, putting a hand over my eyes. Maybe Maika is right... perhaps i should let time heal me, not injure me more. I blink, laughing bitterly. Have i gone mad? Let time heal? 14 years and nothing has gotten better. Everything has went downhill. Time heals best? That's a bunch of bullcrap. Excuse my language. Slowly, i got back up to my feet and make my way to the garden for my daily fencing with Yamoto, the only thing i look forward to nowadays. This and night time. I'm a bit early. Oh well, nothing like fencing with the air as your fencing partner. I quickly put on the bleach white attire and the mask on before warming up.
3rd person POV
"You're here early." Naozumi stops sparing the air for a moment, a smile creeping on his face. "As usual." The blonde continues. "You know i have guard patrols until a little before 9." Naozumi takes his mask off, hugging it on his side, flashing a smile at the blonde. "I know. I'm the one who gave you that duty. Don't worry, i had nothing better to do anyways." The blonde sighs as he puts on the same attire the prince currently has on. "What about those paperworks? Nao, you can't keep running away from those you know. It's your duty as the heir to the throne. You have-" "subjects to tend to and a whole kingdom to look after. I know. Geez Yamato, always bossing me around. Let me live a little." Yamato scoffs, grabbing his sabre and fencing mask. "Yeah yeah alright i'll let you have your honeymoon till the end of this week. Then i expect you to actually do your duties. Clear, Nao?" "As crystal. Shall we duel?" Yamato smirks as he puts his mask on, getting into position. "Yes, we shall."
