Ling's POV.
"Wanwan! Stop right there! The guards could take us down at anytime." I grabbed a hold of the younger girl's clothes to prevent her from running.
"Come on, A-Ling! You're no fun." She pouted and crossed her arms.
"It's Ling ge. Not A-Ling. I'm still older than you." I corrected her.
I look to my side to see Zilong chasing down Chang'e. I sighed and shook my head.
Wanwan and I were a part of the Chen clan although we are not siblings as Zilong and Chang'e a part of the Zhou clan.
"Zhou Zilong! A-Chang! Stop running! You'll get caught." I called out for the sibling duo and they come back and smile apologetically.
"Come on. Remember what uncle Chen and madam Zhou told us to do." I glared slightly and we continued walking. Occasionally asking citizens for directions.
"The night has fallen. We must find a shelter to stay." Wanwan said as she looked worriedly at the sky. She would always do that but we would never question.
"Alright. Let's look around for shelter." Zilong said and we started looking around. Soon enough, we found a cave to stay the night.
"But mommy never told us that it would take this long." Chang'e told her brother.
"I know. But you could always go back if you want." Zilong patted the younger girl's head.
"Can brother come with me?" She asked hopefully.
"Sorry bud. Your gege is on an important mission." He smiled.
I sighed and sipped my tea.
"What's wrong, Ling ge?" Wanwan asks.
"I miss when I had a sibling..." I whispered quietly to her.
"You had a sibling?"
"Yes. She's older than me by 3 years and... She had been sent to Japan to further cultivate leaving me here in China. I remember bawling my eyes out when she left, what a silly child I was." I scoffed at myself.
"What was her name?"
"Kagura. She left on my fifth birthday. And soon enough, I'll be joining her." I continued to drink my tea but soon notice Wanwan's eyes of panic.
"Y-You'll be leaving us, Ling-ge?" She asked with teary eyes.
"It runs in the clan. Don't worry, Wanwan. You will be coming with me." I patted her head but her she panicked even more.
"S-So we'll be leaving Zilong-ge and Chang'e?"
"You have to learn to let go. The time will come eventually, it's just not near yet." I reasurred the teenage girl.
"I'll miss them... Will you miss them, too?" She leans on my shoulder.
"Of course." I answer immediately.
"I hope that time won't come soon. I want to stay with them... For longer... Forever..." Tears rolled down her cheeks peacefully.
I prop her up to dry her tears.
"Everything will be okay. We'll all be fine, don't cry." I kissed her forehead and she cried in my arms.
"Ling ge? What's wrong with Wanwan jie?" Chang'e comes up to us.
"Don't worry A-Chang. Nothing's wrong. She just got a but emotional, that's all." I reassured the youngest girl and she nodded and ran to her elder brother.
"Wanwan? You're alright now?" I ask the girl after she had got up from my hold. She nodded and smiled.
"You know Ling-ge... I had a friend... He was older than me by a lot, he would also take care of me when my parents weren't there. He was like a brother to me... We would train together and he would always keep me company but then... He vanished and that's when Baxia-ge came to my life."
"What was his name?"
"I don't know his real name but... I made a nickname for him because he would tell me his real name." She layed once again on my shoulder. The siblings were vast asleep.
"What was the nickname?" I ask.
"Black dragon."
