Louis walked into school the next day, not expecting to see Harry until after his classes, when they agreed to meet up and work on the dance again. He went home yesterday, confused and disappointed, but didn't want to mope around over something all day that probably wouldn't have been at the start anyway. So he decided not to think too much about it and just went to hang out with Zayn.

So, after Harry hadn't reached out to explain or anything like that, Louis didn't - as said - expect to see him. But as he's on his way towards his locker he sees Harry's figure out of the corner of his eye. He looks in the direction where he saw the boy, and spots him talking with Liam Payne, another of Louis' close friends.

Since Louis knows Liam, he decides to go talk with them. He does want to talk with Harry about yesterday anyway.

Louis reaches the boys, who seem to be deep in conversation, so he has to clear his throat to gather the attention of the two. Louis focuses on Harry when they both turn around to see the boy's eyes widen before he quickly tries disguising it again by looking at the ground; doing a terrible job.

Louis transports into Harry's mind while he has the chance and immediately hears Harry's thoughts.

"-so awkward. Why does he always look so good- act normal, Harry."

"Hey, Tommo." Liam smiles and greets Louis with a brotherly hug since it has been some time since they last saw each other.

"Does he know everyone? How popular is he? Wouldn't surprise me if he were."

"Hi, Payno." Louis follows along. The three boys stand in silence for a couple of seconds before Liam remembers Harry.

"This is Harry by the way, he started yesterday, right?" He looks at Harry for confirmation

"Right." Harry mumbles quietly.

"Why do I have to be a social moron?"

Louis almost laughs at Harry's comment, but he covers it up with a cough.

"What an introduction Li," Louis says sarcastically. "But Harry and I know each other already actually." Louis' eyes flicker to Harry's, who nods cautiously.

"Yeah, we were practically rubbing up against each other, almost kissing yesterday even though it was the first time we met."

"Oh, how so?" Liam smiles, looking between the two, immediately thinking they have something going on, as he does with every guy Louis ever talks to.

"We have dance class together and Mrs. Hayes paired us up on this huge assignment that will probably kill me." Louis jokes and Harry chuckles at the memory of yesterday and all the lifts they did and still have to do.

Liam's eyes switches between Louis and Harry before he ends on Louis and raises his eyebrows suggestively at him. Louis knows he's thinking all sorts of things right now, which is why he really doesn't wanna go into Liam's brain. Besides, last time he did so, he discovered all sorts of weird things about Liam, that he definitely did not want to know.

"Stop that. It's not what you think, dipshit." Louis rolls his eyes and Liam smiles playfully back at him.

"What does he think?" Harry finally chirps in.

"That you two are doing the-"

"Absolutely nothing."

"Oh my God, so he is gay?"

"He's not thinking anything. He isn't smart enough to have thoughts anyway." Louis cuts Liam off by smacking his hand over Liam's mouth. Liam tries letting out a "Heyyy!" of offence but it's muffled in Louis' hand.

Harry chuckles at the boys, dimples and bright teeth showing. Louis' just glad Harry can't hear his thoughts at that moment.

"Well then, since you two apparently are so close, I'll just leave you alone for a bit." Liam says when Louis finally removes his hand from his face. He starts walking away, but not before looking at Louis and mouthing 'Great catch'. Louis just rolls his eyes and shoves the boy away until Liam finally leaves.

"Sorry 'bout that." Louis chuckles shortly, making eye contact with Harry.

"'s okay," Harry smiles shyly. "So, do you know everyone around here or what?" Harry chuckles awkwardly to himself, trying to make conversation.

"What makes you think that?" Louis smiles confusedly.

"You just always seem to be with someone, and when we were walking to class yesterday a lot of people were coming to say hi. And then at lunch I saw you sitting with tough, leather-jacket-guy."

"I'm not that popular, you just catch me at my best moments," Louis shrugs. "And the leather-jacket-guy, Zayn, he's a softie at heart, so he's not as scary as he makes it seem."

Harry replies with a quiet "oh".

"But you were looking for me at lunch yesterday?"

"Oh God, smooth Harry, now he thinks you're obsessed with him and everything."

"No- I mean, was just casually searching around and then I saw you, but I wasn't- I mean I kinda was- but it wasn't like-"

Louis chuckles at Harry's cute way of skating around the questions and decides to stop him torturing himself.

"Well, I was looking for you too. Wanted to ask you to sit with us, but I couldn't find you."

"Oh."

"Really?" Harry's eyes glint at that and a cautious smile creeps onto his face.

"Yeah, how come I couldn't find you if you were there?" Louis questions.

"Well, um, this is embarrassing," Harry fiddles with his fingers. "I kind of, um, hid behind a bin when you looked because...."

"Because..?" Louis questions further when Harry doesn't seem to know what to say.

"Because Zayn looked scary." Harry forces out making Louis laugh out loud to which Harry looks down in shame.

"Zayn couldn't hurt a fly if he wanted to, you have nothing to worry about," Louis smiles comfortingly at Harry. "Why don't you come sit with us today, then you'll see?"

"Okay." Harry smiles brightly.

"Okay then. Well, I have class, see you later Harold." Louis shakes his head in amusement as he walks away.

"Wow. What a guy."

These are the last thoughts Louis hears from Harry before he's too far away to hear anything else.
