It had been a few weeks and I felt pretty happy with everything. Me and Soph were back to our regular bestie energy. Us and b and Austin were just as fine too. Me and zion were actually in a really good place. I guess we had just as much bestie energy as me and Soph. But we kept that between ourselves. Our friends don't need to know how close we are. It seemed like everything was going my way. Perfect, perhaps.

"Our big rivalry game is tonight!" Soph says as we await the bell to ring. "You guys going?"

"Wouldn't miss it for the world!" Austin says.

"And you?" I ask brandon.

"I'll see if I can make it" he shrugs with a smirk on his face. The three exchange looks and laugh.

"I'm sorry am I missing something?" I say confused as to what's going on.

Before they could respond the bell rang and we all went to class.

"Big game tonight, Green" Zion says as I settle down.

"Yup, you going?" I say.

"Of course" He responds. "Gonna go cheer on my favorite player"

"Thank yo-"

"I was talking about Sophia" he says sarcastically.

"Shut up" I roll my eyes and giggle.

"YES!" We hear a girl squeal as she jumps into the arms of a boy with a sign. She had gotten asked to homecoming by her boyfriend.

"You going?" Zion asks.

"Duh. I'm on the team" I respond.

"I'm talking about homecoming, stupid" he scoffs.

"Oh uh yeah actually. Soph wants me to because it's Senior year" I say taking my stuff out.

"You gotta date?"

"Uh no" I laugh. "No me, Soph, Austin, and Brandon are just gonna go as a group."

I thought there was no point in asking if he was going because Zion Kuwonu has never missed a school dance. He's gotten homecoming king since freshman year. And why would that change senior year?

"I don't think I'm gonna go" He says outta the blue.

"What?" I say frowning. "Why not??"

"I don't know" he says. "Im lazy"

"Awe but ur gonna disappoint all those girls who think you're gonna ask them" I say rolling my eyes.

"Those poor girls" he says jokingly. We laugh.

Fast forward to lunch.

"Wassup guys" I say sitting next to Brandon and Soph. "Where's Austin?"

"Went to go get something from his locker" Brandon says taking a chip from my lunch.

"B, literally every single time I get chip-"

"Oh my god, China, I ate one chi-"

"Aweee" a crowd gushes stopping me and Brandon from bickering.

We turn around to see Austin with a sign that says 'my goal is to kick it with you at hoco' and a soccer ball.

"Soph, will yo-"

"YES" Soph answers Austin. She jumps up and hugs him.

"Which means we're third wheeling" I say to Brandon.

"Oh please, we've been third wheeling since freshman year, China" He says taking another chip.

"Are you for rea-"

"It was ONE CHIP!"
