You sat on the couch, cuddled into your boyfriend, and deep in thought. Something was playing on the TV but neither one of you were paying attention to it, both lost in your own little worlds. A frown soon took over your face and you turned to your boyfriend, gaining his attention.
"Keishin...I was thinking-"
"That's never good." The blonde male quipped back playfully, causing you to roll your eyes affectionately.
"Really though! I was thinking, and Yamaguchi-kun is getting so much better with both me and Makoto-nii practicing with him..." You looked into Ukai's brown eyes and he nodded his agreement.
"He's gotten much better than when I first met him. You guys have done really well with him. He's gaining more confidence out on the court now too. Hell, he's just gaining more confidence in general." Ukai acknowledged. He wouldn't admit it, but just from the way he was speaking you could tell he was proud of the first-year and all of his progress.
You both had a soft spot for Karasuno's team, but you especially had a soft spot for Yamaguchi Tadashi. The boy came to your older brother, Makoto Shimada, for help one day, and you being the mother hen you are decided to hang around and help as well. It started as just bringing snacks and making sure they had water, but soon enough you started assisting in teaching him as well. Serving wasn't your strong suit, but you would help him with his receives. With all that time spent together you started looking at him like a little brother, and wanted the best for him.
"That's right, he has gotten much better! So much better! He's excited to play now, and he's confident in his great skills...I just..." You hummed in frustration, trying to word what you wanted to say correctly. Keishin gave you a concerned look.
"What is it?"
"I just...I wish that you put him in more. I know that you have your reasons for keeping him out, and the others are really good as well, and I'm not trying to say that your choice in strategy isn't right. I just wish he had more of a chance to prove himself to his team, to you, and honestly to himself as well." You averted your eyes after you were done and looked at the ground, fiddling your hands together with the blanket that's wrapped around both of you. Keishin grabbed your face softly and made you look at him in the eyes.
"I know you do, (Y/n). I've been meaning to put him in more anyways, I just haven't yet. We have a practice match next week so I'll put him in more then, as a test run." Keishin leaned down and kissed your nose softly, making you giggle. Your heart was bursting at the words he just spoke. You were excited to see your "little brother" play more. The excitement on your face was evident and it made Ukai break into his own grin.
"You look like a dork when your face is all stretch out like that." He teased, trapping you in a hug so you couldn't see how much your own happiness affected himself. You laughed at his words and pushed him back down on the couch so he was lying face up. You jumped on him and straddled him, giving a triumphant smirk.
"You're the real dork here, dearest." You stuck your tongue out at him and he quickly popped his head up and swiped his tongue against yours. You squealed in laughter and wiped your mouth, scrunching up your nose in disgust. "You're nasty, too!"
"No, you." Keishin quipped back, letting out his own laugh.
You both quieted down after a little while, you still straddling him, and just stared into each others eyes lovingly. Big cheesy smiles took over your faces and you kissed his nose.
"I love you more than life itself, you know. You make me the happiest man alive, and I couldn't imagine a life without you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, you know. You really are the best thing that could've ever happened to me, and I wonder everyday what I must've done to be this lucky to deserve your love."
You blushed a soft red, embarrassed at his words but loving them nonetheless. Your heart was overflowing with love for the man under you. "You're such a sap, you know that?"
"I'm serious, though. It may be sappy, but it's true." He pulled you down so you were now laying on his chest. You nuzzled your face into the crook of his neck and inhaled his scent.
"I love you too, darling. I could only hope to spend the rest of my days loving you, and you loving me." You kissed his neck softly and smiled at the man holding you. You really did love him. You two stayed like that for a while, laying cuddled on the couch until you jolted up, causing Keishin to look at you with a questioning gaze.
"You know what else?"
"Hm?"
"Sugawara-kun needs to be put in more too! Let the poor boy play every once in a while. It's his last year, Keishin. He wants to play with his friends too, not just watch. And he's so smart, he always does crazy good when he's out there. Let our boy play." You looked at him with determination, and he sighed but let out a small chuckle.
"Of course. Anything for you, my love."
You broke out into a grin and lied back down, nuzzling back into your boyfriend, and feeling complete.
