I quietly opened the door, hoping that no one noticed me walking in. But when I entered the living room, I was greeted by a very annoyed Ashley.

'Andy! Where the hell have you been?!' He asked angrily. 'Oh nothing special, just you know, exploring the town.' 'Oh right, and you want me to believe that?!' 'Jesus Ash, calm down.' Gosh, I can't even mind my own business for one day! 'Why would you even care. I thought you were to busy chasing some hot chicks or something.' 'Well at least you know where I was! You expect me to just not care where you have been. After you sneaked out for the entire day, not wanting to tell anyone what you've been up to.' 'Oh I'm so not having this conversation right know!' I screamed as I walked to the front door. 'And since you are suddenly so interested at to where I'm going. I'm just going to take a walk and smoking some cigarettes. Goodbye Ash!' I said while I slammed the door behind me.

I wandered through the streets. My eyes landed on a small shop on the door was a poster that said cd's and comics on sale. I took one last puff of my cigarette and decided to take a look, maybe I could find something fun to read or listen to that would lighten my mood.

It was a quiet day at work. It used to be quiet in this shop. There were not many people interested in cd's, LP's or comics. People now had Spotify and E-Readers. I was one of the few people that was actually more interested in the old-fashioned way to listen to music or read books. I was moving a pile of comic books. 'Hey there.' I was shocked by the sound. I jumped a little and the pile of comics fell to the ground. I didn't hear anyone come in. I immediately recognized his remarkably low voice. He chuckled, 'sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.' 'Andy, you almost gave me a heart attack.' 'Sorry.' He said while he kneeled to the ground to help me pick up the comic books. 'What brings you here?' I asked. 'Well I was exploring the town a bit when I noticed this shop, and I decided to take a look. I... uhm... was wondering if you have any comics of-' 'Batman,' I finished. 'Uhm... how did you...' I laughed while looking at a tattoo of the Batman logo on his arm. 'I noticed multiple Batman tattoos, so I figured you must really like Batman. It's... uhm... kinda obvious.' He looked down at his arms and looked back at me. He grinned, 'so first you judge be because of my tattoos, clearly not amused by them. But then you did study them extensively.' I felt I started to blush and quickly turned my head, hoping he didn't notice. 'But... uhm do you have any Batman comics?' 'Oh yes sorry, we do. I think you can find them there somewhere.' I pointed left in the back of the store. 'Thank you.' He smiled at me as he walked to the back of the store. It took a while before I remembered what I was doing. Damn that smile! I continued with moving the pile of comics in my hands. Andy bought two comics and left the store after he paid. I watched him as he walked out the door. Maybe I was wrong about him.

I was relieved when it was finally time to close the shop. I was a very small shop and there were never so many costumers. So my boss thinks I can close the store myself so he can go home in the evenings. I closed the door, I checked if it was locked just to be sure. And I turned around. I gasped, there he stood leaning against the wall of the store. He grinned when he saw me. He took one last puff of his cigarette before throwing it on the ground and crushed it with the bottom of his black combat boots. I was creeped out a bit by his presence. Why was he still here? 'Hey...uhm... did you wait here for my shift to end?'
'Yeah... I didn't really feel like going home.' He said awkwardly while he scrubbed the back of his head. He seemed to do that when he was awkward. 'Oh... trouble at home?' I asked. 'Yeah... you could say that.' I noticed he didn't feel like talking about it and he quickly changed the subject. 'So you live around here?' 'Yeah I do. It's only a ten minute walk from here.' 'Oh great... uhm... do you mind if I walk with you? I still don't feel like going home and I don't really like the idea of you walking out here all alone at this late hour.' He asked shyly. I doubted for a moment but then answered, 'Yeah sure.'

I was not quite sure yet if I could trust this guy, so I decided to ask some questions. 'So... I know you like tattoos, and Batman, and I guess you like black as well since that's the only colour you wear.' He chuckled. 'But... is there some other interesting things I should know about Andy Biersack?' He was surprised by this question and doubted for a bit. But then he answered. 'Well...uhm... I'm in a band.' He said. 'Oh really?' I asked a bit sarcastic. 'What? You don't believe me?' 'Oh no, nothing. So...' He looked at me questioningly. 'What's the name of the band and what kind of music do you guys make?' 'Oh Black Veil Brides...uhm it's hard-rock, metal something like that. I don't really feel like putting a label on it.' 'What instrument do you play?' 'Well... I actually do vocals.' 'But isn't hard-rock or metal with all that screaming and stuff.' He rolled his eyes. 'What?' I asked. 'No, it's not all screaming and stuff. That may be in there yes. But that's not what it's about. It's the combination with the electric guitars, the drums, vocals and the true lyrics.' 'Oh' I said. 'You should really stop with all the prejudices.' He whispered in my ear, it sent shivers down my spine. God can he stop doing that! 'I'm going to change your opinions on rock.' 'Oh really?' I asked teasingly. 'Yes.'

The rest of the walk was very nice actually. We've talked a bit about ourselves and some more about music. I noticed he tried to avoid the questions about him a little. It didn't really bother me. But it felt like he was hiding something. That made me very curious. He didn't act like I would expect him to which was a good thing. He was a little mysterious, but... interesting. When we arrived at my house, he turned to me. 'Hey Grace?' He asked nervously. 'Yes?' 'I thought maybe if you are free tomorrow after school, maybe we could work on that history assignment.' 'Oh... uhm... okay sure.' 'I was wondering if we could meet at your place. Cause... uhm... my house is a bit...crowded'. 'Yeah sure, shouldn't be a problem. My mother isn't home anyways so...' 'Alright great, see you tomorrow.' He turned around and I watched him as he disappeared into the night.
