Francesca's party came sooner than expected, Violetta soon found herself panicking over what to wear and suddenly realising that she didn't have anything. She took herself shopping, tried on basically anything that the shop had to offer before opting for a leather skirt and a lowcut top, she might as well make an impression considering she's got nothing to lose.
She tried to do her own makeup, redid her eyeliner about fifty times and then opted to just stick on some false eyelashes that she had leftover from a school formal, one of the only times the girls at the boarding school were allowed to wear makeup and look a little bit grownup. "V! Come on, we gotta get going if we're going to be close to on time," Fede shouted from downstairs, she slipped on some of her only clean shoes (blame the addiction to freedom and late-night running) and the two of them started the walk to Francescas.
"I don't know why you couldn't get one of your friends to drive us," Violetta laughed as it started to lightly drizzle with rain, Fede sighed. Violetta had been cooped up for so long that she hadn't exactly experienced drama and cliques, I mean they had a head girl and group of senior students at the boarding school but considering there were no boys to fight over and the lunch seats were assigned, they didn't exactly have many problems. Except for Tomas, Violetta managed to turn some heads when whisperings about her seeing him started to spread.
"None of them can drive except for Leon and he's taking his girlfriend and her best friend, so it would be a bit cramped in the car," Fede sighed, luckily they were edging in close to Frans house so they wouldn't have to worry about being drenched.
As soon as they got there, Violetta was thrown into a hug. "I'm so glad you made it, nice to see you again!" Fran cheered whilst holding a drink that looked to be spiked considering how she was standing, Violetta didn't care, she needed to let loose a little after being caught up in that darned school for so long. Fran then looped her arm round the back of Fede, leading him immediately onto the dance floor, the place where he thrived. Violetta didn't mind and decided to spend her time people watching, whilst making her way to the kitchen.
There were a couple of groups of people at this party, the floor of Francesca's living room was packed with people dancing and singing their hearts out, they all looked a little tipsy and very energetic and it was kind of funny to watch as people stepped on other people's feet or bumped the drinks out of eachother's hands. Then there were people sitting, guys tossed their arms around girls backs, smiling and flirting like they do in the movies. Violetta kind of wished she was one of those girls, but would never have that kind of confidence to make it a reality.
"Violetta, right? We met at the restaurant the other week, Camila?" Cami smiled, distracting Violetta from her people watching.
"Hi, yeah I remember," Violetta said, realising that she probably looked a little lost in thought or overwhelmed.
"Come on, let's get you a drink," Cami said, taking her by the wrist and confidently strutted her through the crowds of people, shockingly, they all parted. It wasn't that surprising at second thought however, Camila seemed very confident and a little intimidating, it made her and Francesca an unlikely pair, as Francesca seems like the sort of person that would be scared of her.
"What do you fancy?" Cami laughed, already pouring Violetta a drink. Violetta assumed it was a hypothetical as a drink was soon thrusted in her hand, she started to sip it, the strong taste of alcohol burnt the back of her throat a little but she rather enjoyed the rush. She hadn't exactly experienced anything like this since the incident that got her thrown out of boarding school.
Then, all of a sudden, it was like the party came to a standstill as the front door swung open and in came four more guests, except something told Violetta that they were far more important. The music paused as they strutted in, acting as if they owned the place.
There was four of them, a blonde wearing a tight baby pink mini dress, the boy that Violetta had opened the door to the other day (she thinks his name is Leon but can't be certain), a girl wearing a zebra print top who had tight curly black hair and a guy hanging in the back wearing a graphic tee. They surveyed the party, the two girls made a strut for the dance floor whereas one of the guys hung back and Fede's ride to school headed straight to the kitchen.
"What's the strongest thing they've got then?" He laughed, picking up a couple of bottles and reading them over. He poured himself a drink, downing it in one, looks like he had a pretty stressful day. "Your Fede's sister right?" He said, making eye contact with Violetta. She smiled and nodded, too surprised that he had noticed her to say anything.
"I kinda preferred the pyjamas," he winked with a smirk, pouring himself another drink and rejoining the party. Violetta felt Cami grab onto her arm with shock.
"Why has Leon Vargas seen you in your pyjamas?" She smiled almost knowingly, tilting her glass towards Violetta. Violetta shook her head, he had to make it sound strange.
"I opened the door when he came to pick up Fede, that's all, nothing more," Violetta insisted.
"Yeah, well if Ludmilla ever finds out about that story, watch your back. She can make the biggest fuss over the smallest inconvenience and this is the perfect landscape for that to happen," Cami laughed.
"I'll be careful," Violetta smiled, and decided to rejoin Fede and Francesca on the dance floor, she had a bit of energy now and needed to get it out.
