My mother always told me we do what we can for the people we love because that's who we are. It never quite struck me till today, till this very moment.

Because shit got fucked up... so bad.

"Aimee!" Genie yelled, grabbing my wrists as she shook me continuously. But I stood frozen. I stared into her eyes and saw the fear within as she tried pulling me out of the state I was in.

It felt as if time slowed down, and everything was moving in slow motion. The sound of my heart pounding away was the soundtrack to how fucked I was. My eyes moved away from her and circled the room. Chaos was all I saw. Fuck. Ashleigh was curled up in a ball by the door, her face pale as day, rocking back and forth. Buhle was in my bedroom's en suite, seated on the toilet, with tears streaming down her face and covered in blood. My anxiety took a turn for the worst at the sight of the blood spatters all over her white hoodie.

"It's not coming off!" the cries of Adrienne caught my attention. With mascara stained cheeks, she was vigorously washing the blood off her hands in a panic. I closed my eyes and inhaled a deep breath.

"Aimee, we need you" Genie's voice cracked as she pleaded in desperation.

I opened my eyes, and assured them her with a nod that I was okay. "Okay..."

I quickly pulled myself together and cleared my throat. "Okay, everyone with blood on their clothes, take it off and I'll fetch a bag to put it in. You guys can take any clothes from my cupboard to wear."

"Okay" Thandile replied with a shaky voice and began undressing.

I looked over at Ashleigh, who appeared as if she'd seen a ghost and I frowned. Genie and I locked eyes and without saying anything, she knew what I was thinking and went over to help Ashleigh. I made my way into the bathroom and took Adrienne's hands before she scrapped her skin off from washing her hands so hard.

"Adi, look at me" I said calmly.

Slowly, she turned her body to face me. Her head tilted up and our eyes met. The sadness in her eyes was like a dagger to my heart. I've never seen her like this before, so scared. Adrienne always exerted so much confidence and life, but in this moment she looked... broken. They all did. "I can't do this" her voice broke.

"I know it's okay. It's going to be okay" My arms wrapped around her tightly. She didn't hug me back but that was fine, she just needed the comfort. I pulled back and closed the tap. My eyes skimmed over her to check if she had blood on her clothes. It widened at the sight of her all white sneakers which wasn't so white anymore. Blood spatter was all over them.

"Take off your shoes"

She nodded, appearing slightly calmer from the panic state she was in. Adrienne planted herself on the floor and began untying her laces. My focus drifted to Buhle who hasn't said anything yet. With a hoodie covered in blood, she looked rather... normal. Before I could speak, the sound of the front door opening caught my attention.

"Help!" Someone shout from downstairs.

I dashed out of my room, followed by Genie and Thandile on my tracks. We stopped at the stairs when we saw who it was. My heart dropped. Megan was carrying a stumbling Katelyn who looked completely out of it, barely able to walk.

"What the fuck!" I yelled and we ran down the stairs.

"I don't know but we need to pump her stomach or some shit." Megan cried.

I slung Katelyn's other arm around my shoulder, Genie took the other arm and we carried her up the stairs to my room.

"What the fuck" Ashleigh gasped as we entered.
