Acacia Taylor woke up on December 12th to the sound of her mother's voice as she was being propped up. The young girl was still in weak condition from after the surgery she had. Due to her frail condition, the girl had to be propped up by her mother every morning before starting the day. Acacia felt terrible. All she wanted to do was ask Daniel out on a movie date over the weekend but she had run into such a large amount of mishaps that not only did she miss the chance to ask Daniel out, but she was beaten into a bloody pulp and now Daniel was going out with her best friend rather than her.
But even with her massive disappointments in her luck recently, Acacia still got ready for the day as usual. Her morning routine started as usual with picking out an outfit to wear for the day which would protect her from the below freezing temperatures that were beginning to show up and changing into it. After she got dressed, Acacia went downstairs to make and eat her breakfast before returning back upstairs to brush her teeth; all before gathering her supplies for school and going into the garage to wait for her mother.
Acacia waited a few minutes before her mother walked into the garage and got into her car to begin driving Acacia to school. On the car ride to school Acacia thought about the one and only thing she could think about ever since she had witnessed it-Alexis and Daniel's kiss. It upset her that the person whom she trusted most would start dating the boy who she had already said was the boy she had an interest in while she was hospitalised.
"Acacia," the girl's mother spoke.
"Yes, mother?" Acacia answered.
"Was yesterday okay for you?" the woman asked, "You weren't physically uncomfortable at all during the day?"
Not physically, Acacia thought, "No, I was fine. My chest is beginning to feel a lot better."
"That's great to hear," her mother ended.
When Acacia arrived at school, she told her mother what time she wanted to be picked up before opening the car door and getting out. Acacia then began to walk to biology. She knew that Alexis was showing up at school early now, but she was still too upset with her friend to spend any time with her.
The previous day at lunch, Acacia went to a teacher's classroom to pretend to study just so she wouldn't have to see Alexis and Daniel together. She knew avoiding them wouldn't be as easy this time-as the teacher she went to stay with figured out that the girl wasn't studying at all in his classroom-and that she would have to go somewhere to sit, if not at her own table. Acacia had a feeling that the new couple would want to make nice with her again and try to reason with her despite her desire to avoid both of them.
When Acacia got to her biology class, her teacher was already present so she politely asked if she didn't mind if she was in the class early. Receiving the teacher's permission, Acacia went to the back of the class where her spot was and sat down. Rather than taking out her book, the girl sat there and hoped on the name of God that Daniel Wright would be absent that day.
Acacia had a firm belief that her life could not get any worse at this point. Of course, this was primarily the teenage angst talking as her life not only could get worse but more than likely would get worse in the near future. But to the girl, everything that could go wrong did go wrong and there wasn't a single thing working in her favour. Acacia wanted to stay home but she was usually against emotions getting in the way of her education so she decided to drag herself to school regardless of her teenage crisis. The girl tried her hardest to simply let the moment go while she sat at the back of the class deep in thought but something didn't let her. Acacia wanted to forget she ever liked Daniel Wright and simply be satisfied with the fact that her best friend was now dating the one boy she loved.
