It is a dark night in the suburbs of Tokyo, in the district of Asakusa. I am in my room, quietly waiting for everyone to be asleep.
As everyone seems to have dozed off, I quietly walked over to my bedside cabinet and took a look inside. I took what was inside the cabinet, rolled in a used newspaper. I left my room and went downstairs quietly. I then took some spray paint outside of my home, in an alleyway. I ran towards a place that was memorable to me, although I couldn't remember what it meant. I always run off to that place to serve as an outlet. I ran towards the bridge and go down to an alley. I took my spray paint and continued my work, or as they call it, graffiti. It was another silent day, with nothing to prove nor any connections with anyone. I remember as my brother used to say,
"Only the bad ones survive this world."
My relatives think of him as a murderer, a thief. To me, he's a hero. He saved mom and dad's shop by giving up something that meant the most to him. In the end, I also gave up something that meant to me. Just to be with my brother. I believe it didn't go to waste. Because my brother was all I had.
I began to paint away the pain. I express myself through my graffiti. When suddenly,
"Hold it right there!"
A police officer halted me.
"Tsk."
I thought of ways to deceive him.
"Wait a minute, Toi?"
The policeman said.
"Toi? Toi, who?"
I was surprised but still showed my tough act, how could he know my name?
"Toi! It's me Koki Ayumi!"
The policeman said.
"Koki?"
I began to remember.
"Yeah, we used to play soccer a lot as kids! I finally found you."
He said. I walked closer to him as he hugged me and I hugged back.
"It's nice to see you agai-"
He said as I slit a knife through his abdomen.
"Sorry, but,"
I removed the knife from him.
"Only the bad ones survive this world."
