Mama (Michael's Mother) POV
I opened the door and right when I saw her I startd crying. I couldn't contain it . I missed her so much. I hugged the girls and told them to go upstairs to go hang with their cousins. Mariah hugged me. I hugged her back for a long time. I invited her in. We sat at the dinning table in silence for what seemed like forever until she broke the silence.
'I missed you so much. Sorry I never called-"
"Hey momma" Travis cut her off while hugging her.
"Boy do you not see grown folks talking?" I said sternly.
"It's fine mama. Hey boo. Where's your brother?"
He mean mugged me before he answered his mom. He better get into check. Just because his momma is here don't mean I won't beat his ass.
"He went over to the corner store with Omar." Omar's his cousin who's staying in Cali for the rest of the month until he has to go back to college.
"You all alone? Why ain't you call me? I could've taken you with us to breakfast."
"It's fine Mariah. He eats all the time. I made all of them a large breakfast this morning." I chimed in. Mariah smiled. "Should'nt you be telling your sister Happy Birthday?" I asked trying to get him to leave. He smiled and finally caught on with what I was trying to do. After he went up stairs I poured Mariah and I some drinks.
"Now where we?" I said
"I was saying how sorry I am for not calling. I really missed you." She said.
"Baby I missed you too. I hear you're engaged. What's his name?" His name is Kavon and he's a really nice man. He'll be at Char's bday tonight."
"Thanks for the invitation" I said laughing.
"Oh I'm sorry ma. I thought Michael would've told you"
"Its fine boo. Speaking of Michael, I was just talking to him before y'all came."
There was an awkward silence. I wasn't sure what kind of terms Mariah and Michael were on.
"Just remember that no matter what terms your on with him that you're still a daughter to me." I told her.
"Thanks mama Char"
We went into the living room and started catching up with each other. It was 4:30 and Char needed to go home so she could get to her surprise bday on time. After they left with Travis I went upstairs to get dressed for tonight.
Just a little update for you guys. I don't celebrate Christmas so if you do then Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
