Pay Day

“Yo, Chop, go Catch!” Jahrad threw the ball and watched it fly down the street.  He watched his fat Pit Bull waddle down the street chasing the ball. He was waiting, waiting for his usual call. “Vrrrrrr,” his phone was vibrating.  Jahrad sighed. “Another day for work.” He grunted, “Chop! Back to the house.” Chop walked over to him and looked at him with cute eyes wanting another throw. “Sorry Chop, I got some work to do.” Chop whined and glumly walked home.

Jahrad pulled out his phone, “Hey Tyrone, whatcha got for me?”

Tyrone bit into his hot dog, “Hey JJ, I got something good for ya’ today, oh yes I do.”

Jahrad sighed, “Just come out with it, alright man.”

Tyrone bit into his hotdog again, “Alright, here’s what I got,”  he paused for a moment to pull out a piece of paper with an address. “There’s some rich guy who left his garage open and has a real nice car. You can get it and bring it to the shop. I’m sure you’ll get some big bucks for that.”

Jahrad looked at his watch, “Alright,” he grunted, “Where is it?”

“Where are you going?”  Jennet screamed, “Peirce where are you going?” Peirce walked down the marble stairs grabbed his keys, sunglasses, and his straw hat and went towards the garage. Jennet followed him down the hallway “Peirce! Where are you going?”

Peirce stopped and turned around, he dusted off his white suit, “Alright,” he bellowed, “I’m just going for a drive, alright?!”

Jennet looked at him sternly “Peirce, if you’re going to lie to me, let me see your eyes at least?”

Peirce took off his glasses and glanced at his angry wife, he looked at her dress that was made with the utmost care, made almost to look like a peacock, “Listen, Jennet,” he was finally starting to calm down, “I’m just a little flustered, I need to go for a drive alright?”

Jennet looked down at the ground, “What’s happening to us Peirce?”

Peirce walked over and hugged Jennet, “I dunno,” he sighed,  “but I promise I’ll figure something out; I will find a job again.”

Jennet pushed Peirce away and looked out the window and looked at their garden they grew together with elegant roses, daffodils, and violets, “Just make sure it’s a real job and not some crooked one like your last one.” Peirce sighed, he put his sunglasses back on and went out to the garage.

Peirce walked out into his garage, he looked at his car, a fiery red Ferrari, but before he could say anything he noticed his wife’s white SUV was driving out of the garage. He couldn’t see who was driving and he jumped through the back window into the back seat of the car.

Jahrad pulled out his phone, “Man, are you serious that this is the car you wanted me to get?” He pulled the car back out of the garage and through the gate and started driving down the street.

Tyrone finished his hot dog and started walking down the sidewalk to the Repo shop. “Of course man, I never kid.”

Jahrad chuckled a bit, “Oh yeah, Tyrone,” he turned the car and headed out of the rich neighborhood, “You’re just a saint aren’t you?  Fine, I’ll be bringing this car, but if we get told we got the wrong car,” he sped past the gate into the neighborhood and drove onto the highway, “you’re getting the blame.” He hung up the phone and put it in his pocket and laughed a bit. Suddenly he felt a gun to his head.
