I fastly walk outside making the cold winter breeze hit my skin and the alcohol in my body run through all my veins. Hero crossed the line, he definitely did too much. I just asked him to play along with me to make his mom happy, nothing else, but he put his hands where he shouldn't and now I am mad. I don't know if I am mad at him for doing that or if I am
mad at myself for actually getting goosebumps when he touched me. This house terrace has the ocean view. It's also huge so here are many people which is making me claustrophobic. I turn around to see if anyone is paying attention to me and when I see the barmen holding an untouched drink I fastly grab it and drink it all at once. I don't care about getting drunk, if I get drunk I wouldn't know what I am doing, I wouldn't feel anything, which is good because now I want all my problems and worries to disappear, at least for one night. After everything I went through in my life I think I at least deserve to get all the pain away for just one night. I want to have fun, one night without having to worry about a boy who I might or might not love.
When I drink the drink my vision stays blurry for a bit, but everything gets back to normal, for now. I feel like someone is watching me again so I turn to the every side to see what that annoying feeling is telling me. I don't see anyone specifically observing me expect Hero's brother, Titan. I think that's his name, that's what I remember. I know how he looks like from some pictures their mom showed me earlier, but to me, he looks totally different than Hero and Mercy. Titan is leaned to the fence with a beer in his hands and rubbing his chin while looking at the direction of my ass. My cheeks turn a bit redder and I walk to him slowly. I hope my cheeks are only red because of the alcohol and not because I am blushing. "Hey" I mumble and he makes the charming smile. "Hi, sorry if you felt watched or something, I just think you are beautiful" he chuckles and I put some hair behind my ear. He told me I am beautiful? Is he flirting with me? Does he know I used to date Hero? Did he do that because he knows we broke up? "Oh it's fine, don't worry, I felt watched, but it's fine now that I know you aren't some 60 years old creep stalking me." Now I am the one who chuckles and he nods his head smiling while his fingers are masterful playing with his cup. He has the small specific movements just like Hero, which I am pretty sure drive everyone insane. The difference between him and Hero is that Hero is a total different kind of a man and even tho I don't know why and I hate to admit it, but Hero will have my whole heart, forever, no matter what he does, I am just too stubborn, but maybe even too smart to let him win so easily. He needed to make one simple decision and that's if he wants to be loyal to one girl aka me or fuck some random sluts. I guess he made his decision and I made mine. I left. "Well I am not 60 yet and I fortunately won't be anytime soon so I can still talk to the cute girls" he smiles and my cheeks turn even redder. Damn, Catarina, get your shit together.
"Guys, two minutes!" An unfamiliar voice interrupts my thoughts as everyone rushes to the terrace holding their cup in one hand and with the hand of their loved ones in the other hand. Now I feel claustrophobic again and almost fall on Titan as someone hit my back, but I luckily manage to keep my balance because the last thing I need right now is a scandal. "Everyone!! 2020 is about to come so grab your boyfriend and girlfriend and let's celebrate!! Eight, seven. six..." as the countdown begins more and more excitement and craziness runs through my body way differently than every year. Every year I would pretend to enjoy kissing Chad, but this year for the first time is different. I can't see nor feel anything and in the moment I don't realize what's happening my lips are pressed against someone's and that someone is unfortunately is not Hero, it's Titan. I didn't want consequences, but I got them, sharing the New Year kiss with my ex's brother in front of his whole family.
