A new earth. Sounded good enough to Johnny. The fact that its inhabitants were battle-hungry was even better. Really he would have picked anything that let him stay by the Boss' side. They were making a steady course towards the planet, excitement building up in Gats' stomach.  Johnny sauntered into the kitchen. Boss stood at the stove, attention focused on whatever he was doing. Gat hopped up onto the counter beside the other man. "Whatcha doin." It wasn't abnormal for him to get bored between killing sprees. Boss sucked in a deep breath and clutched his chest. "Jesus fucking Christ, don't do that." The larger man frowned, his tone shifting to a more serious one. "Ya ain't normally jumpy, what's wrong." It was more of a demand than a question.
"Just a bad feeling. Can't shake it." Max huffed, stirring in some spices he'd put into the pot before him. "Of a couple aliens? Relax, ya got me again. We got this." Johnny gave an enthusiastic grin. "Yeah...I do." A soft smile crept over Boss' lips.   "Speaking of...I've been wondering, 'Johnny' really isn't a first name. I mean it can be but not usually. Plus, I've never seen you sign anything. Soooo...?" Gat scowled at the question "No."   Boss gave a pouty frown. "Oh come on, please? You know I'm not gonna stop til you tell me." Johnny crossed his arms over his chest. "Yeah, and ya know I ain't gonna tell ya shit. So guess we're at a stalemate. Might as well just fuckin drop it." He shook his head and turned to leave, keeping the other from prolonging the conversation.  Hours passed as time seemed to drag on. Johnny was getting beyond bored of waiting. He just wanted to kill things. Was that too much to ask for? A few beer bottles were scattered about the rec room table in front of him. He'd broken down and began playing with the caps, knocking them into each other in a mock fight.
Boss leaned into the doorway, only his neck and up visible. "Yer like a toddler, Jesus. I got somethin to show you." He waved the other over, moving out of the doorway. Gat didn't have anything better to do so he followed behind. The two moved down the hall to the observation deck.  Johnnys' eyes widened behind his shades. A large planet, covered in bright shades of green and violet rotated in front of him. "We're like two hours out, so you'll be able to deal with yer murder boner pretty soon...Johnathan~." Boss smirked, raising his eyebrows hopefully. Gats' expression of wonder fell immediately in annoyance. "Not even close. I said drop it."
Kinzie stepped out of the ship onto magenta grass. "Oh my god, natural fucking air." Boss slid out after her, taking in a deep breath. "This planet has the same amenities the Earth did. Well, minus other people. Once we kill off the natives we'll have to repopulate." The gingers' gaze moved to Johnny as he made his way out of the ship. "I don't do kids." He didn't bother looking at her, scanning the area for anything he could stick a knife in.   Ciara rolled her eyes, standing beside her brother. "He doesn't do meaningful relationships either." Johnny scowled "the fuck's that supposed to mean." "Oh my god, how about we not do this right now? Cause if that's how this's gonna fuckin' go I'm going my own way." Boss jammed his hands in his pockets, moving ahead of the group.   They trekked through the wilderness for what felt like an hour before actually finding anything. It was a small encampment of natives. Their homes were teepees, radiating out in a circle. A stone altar sat in the middle. They weren't really tough, considering they lacked actual weaponry. Before long the center of the small village was heaped with bright blue bodies.
Boss hunkered down next to one of the corpses, sticking his fingers in the black liquid seeping out. "Shit I think this is actually oil. Neat, nobody light a match." He wiped his hand on his pant leg before standing back up. His eyes followed the blood as it snaked across the ground toward the altar.  Making his way over he began examining the stone structure, watching as the natives' blood seeped into the bottom of it through small holes. "So...not gonna lie I thought this thing was a sundial...turns out we may have a problem." He turned to face the others. The chatter of complaints about having wanted more of a challenge cut to silence as they all focused on him. "Looks like some sorta trigger, judging by the fact they tried to fight guns with spears it's probly gonna launch rocks or some shit." A massive gust of air hit him in the back, knocking him onto his stomach as the altar rocketed into the atmosphere behind him.
The sound was deafening, leaving a high pitched ringing in everyones' ears. Dust, steam, and black blood billowed out of the hole and limited visibility. As the dust settled the ground began to shake. It was almost impossible for the Saints to get to their feet. A hand grabbed Boss by the back of his suit, hauling him off the ground and onto his feet.   Gat dusted him off, being a little too rough unintentionally. He seemed to be the only one not actually having a problem with what was happening. The ground erupted in several spots, sending chunks flying in every direction. Two titanic limbs reached out of the abyss and clung to the surface. Slowly, they lifted out the rest of the creature. Ashen colored flesh, hollowed eye sockets, knife-like fingers. The beast was a nightmare on six black, spider-like legs.
Boss didn't even have to look at his best friend to know he was excited. "Gat, I think this's a bad idea. That thing's fuckin huge." Johnny brushed him off "please, we got guns. This thing prolly ain't even seen guns. It'll be a piece a cake." He moved away from the slightly smaller male, taking his daggers out and imagining how he was going to finish the beast.   Max sighed and slumped his shoulders, frantically thinking of a way to kill the thing in front of them without losing anyone. Johnny wasn't going to listen to any plan he came up with. He knew that for sure. Before he could even settle on anything the monstrosity let out a blood-curdling scream. Gat was already trying to knife it in what he assumed was its ankles.
"Fuck it." He dashed forward without thinking and slammed into Johnny. Gat hit the dirt hard, being pinned down by his best friend. He immediately dropped his daggers so he didn't stab either himself or Boss. "Get the fuck offa me!" Johnny growled, attempting to wrestle free of the other's grip. Pulling away he got to his feet. "The fuck's wrong with ya, I coulda hurt ya!" He dusted himself off as Boss got to his feet. "You wouldn't listen to me, excuse me for trying to fucking keep you alive!" Boss was physically shaking. He reached out to try and grab ahold of Johnny again, only to be pushed away. He stumbled back a bit before catching himself.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw his friends staring at them in shocked silence. His focus turned back to Johnny who was bent over picking up his knives. "I get it, you were cooped up for a long time. But now isn't the time to pull yer stubborn bullshit. We can go after this thing later, what matters is everyone's safety." Boss placed a hand on Gat's shoulder. "Oh, ya do? Ya know what it's like to be trapped in a virtual hell hole for six years watchin the woman ya loved die over and over again? Ya know what it's like to be completely alone for so long ya forget what's even real? Ya know what it's like when every time ya look at your best friend ya can't tell if he's real or fabricated bullshit?" Johnny shook off the other's hand. "Didn't fuckin think so. Shut up and leave me alone before ya really piss me off."
"More than you know..." Boss mumbled under his breath, more to himself than anything. Gat let out a sigh and turned around to face his oldest friend. Before he could apologize he heard someone screaming. He couldn't tell who it was. Everything happened so fast. Hands pressed into his chest as he was shoved onto his back. He reached out to try and grab ahold of Boss, hoping to pull him with him. A massive hand swiped across the ground in front of him. Dirt and dust filled his field of vision, engulfing them both in the silt storm.   Gat pushed himself up and clawed through the cloud of sediment. By the time he'd made it to where he could see, the others were taking potshots. His gaze followed their aim, heart lodging in his throat. Panic churned his stomach. Without hesitation, he sunk both of his blades into the leg closest to him.
The creature pulled Max up towards its' face, smelling him. He would have been trembling but the grip on him was so tight he could barely breathe. Being shot repeatedly didn't seem to bother it at all. He sunk his teeth into the behemoth's hand as hard as he could. The grip tightened instantaneously, causing him to cry out in agony.   In a matter of seconds, the monster had ahold of his free arm. A soft tug and everything went white. Pain coursed through his entire body as he was tossed the side, his severed arm going the opposite direction. Gat's heart stopped as he tried to make a b-line for his best friend. He was halfway there when Pierce and Ben King both grabbed him and began pulling him away from the entity. The titan was busy throwing itself around in a disastrous hissy fit. The others had taken Ciara and ran for the woods they'd come through.  It took both men to wrestle Johnny off his feet and out of harms' way.
Benjamin pushed Johnny in through the door of the ship, blocking the exit so he couldn't leave. Gat was strong, but King was sturdy. Ciara was sitting on the couch in the rec room, head in her hands. Her shoulders were heaving with sobs as Shaundi and Asha tried to comfort her. Everyone else was silent.   "I ain't just gonna leave him there. He could be alive. Ya don't fuckin know he's dead and we just abandoned him there. Fuck all of ya, he woulda stayed for anyone of us. Ya just turned tail and fuckin ran." Gat's voice was a growl, face beet red. "We wouldn't have had to if you'd have just listened to him in the first place. Don't put the blame on us because we made sure everyone else lived. You ran off half-cocked and now he's dead. This is your fault. Own up to it and shut the fuck up. You're not the only one hurting." Asha snapped right back at him, getting off the couch and in his face.  "That's enough. He wouldn't want us fighting." Ciara wiped her face with her sleeve. "Even if he lived he would've died here too. That's assuming we could've even gotten him back here. We were fucked the minute that thing showed up. Let's all get some sleep, in the morning we'll go back and get him. We'll figure out what we're gonna do from there." Her eyes were red-rimmed and puffy.   Johnny tossed and turned in bed, trying to keep his mind off of losing his best friend. Anger and anxiety chewed at his stomach. He was terrified of what they were going to find. Wrapping his arms around his pillow he pulled it close to his chest, using it to silence his sobs and catch his tears.
Boss' eyes fluttered open to the night sky above him. Frigid wind racked his already beaten body with shivers. Sucking in a deep breath he rolled onto his stomach, using his left arm to try and drag himself to the shelter of the trees. "Gat?! J-Johnny?! Ciara?! A-anybody?!" His teeth chattered incessantly.  Bright green eyes stared at him through the trees, glowing in the light of three moons. The eyes disappeared before creatures burst from the trees and began circling him. They looked like wolves but they had no fur. Fangs dug into his flesh as claws tore at him. His screams were silenced by sharp teeth biting into either side of his neck, blood gushing out and pooling underneath him.   Gat shot up in bed, cold sweat running down his back. He ran his fingers through his hair as he tried to get his breathing back under control. After a few minutes, he climbed out of bed and put his suit back on, heading out to the kitchen to search for liquor. The nightmare replayed over and over in the back of his mind.
"You should be trying to sleep, Johnny." Ciara spoke quietly from the doorway. Her gaze was on him but there was a distant look in her eyes like she was looking through him to somewhere else. "So should ya. But I'm guessin' ya can't either." He tipped his beer bottle to his lips, taking a long sip. "Fair enough, mind if I sit with you then?" She moved beside him and gestured to a chair. He gave a small nod and she took a seat.   "God...it just doesn't feel real. I keep expecting him to walk in as if nothing happened." Ciara stared at the table in front of her, twiddling her thumbs. "With that stupid fuckin' smile." Johnny gave a soft chuckle and a small smile before it immediately fell. "I'm sorry, Asha was right. I got him killed. It shoulda been me." Ciara reached over and placed her hand on his. "If it had been, we wouldn't have either of you. Losing you almost killed him. If he'd lost you again..." she gave a bittersweet smile and squeezed his hand lightly. A tear rolled down her cheek before she wiped it away.  "I don't...I don't understand..." Gat knit his brows. "I...I guess my promise doesn't matter now...he loved you. When he thought he'd gotten you killed...it broke him. I wanted to help him so badly but I couldn't. I didn't know how. He became stupid reckless, not even thinking plans all the way through. I mean for fuck's sake he almost killed himself just trying to stop Loren. And then Killbane ruined your funeral and instead of just killing him and being done with it, he wanted to humiliate him and lost his chance because of it. I don't think he ever let that go." Ciara sighed and lowered her shoulders.
Johnny stuffed his hands in his pockets, staring at his feet as he walked. The group was somber. Even Pierce was quiet and he never shut up. It didn't take long before they made it back to what was left of the village. They'd left it ransacked but whatever that giant thing was had turned it to rubble.   Blood specs littered the grass, catching Gats' attention. He bit the inside of his lower lip and followed the path to the left. He made his way to where Boss had been thrown, finding only disturbed grass and dried blood. He clenched his eyes shut as a wash of saliva filled his mouth. It was all he could do to keep from vomiting. The very thought of Boss being alive and having dragged himself away made him sick.   Shouting pulled him from his thoughts. Turning around he was met with Pierce and an alien woman playing tug of war with Boss' severed arm. He was yelling at her to drop it and she was shrieking in whatever language was her native tongue. Anger boiled in his stomach as he rushed over.
His hands wrapped around the alien's throat as he lifted her off the ground. "Where is he?!" Rage dripped from his words. Immediately the woman dropped the tattooed arm, kicking at the air in hopes of connecting with her captor. "I swear to fuckin god, if ya touched a fuckin hair on his head..." a sharp shoe connected with his crotch, knocking the wind out of him.  As soon as her feet hit the ground she snatched the arm back up and bolted. Gat was doubled over, powerless to stop her. He sucked in a deep breath and chased after her. "Wait, hold up!" Pierce whined, tailing after Johnny. The commotion had alerted the others and they too gave chase.
Despite the pain radiating through his knee and nether regions, Johnny was hauling ass. If he didn't have to deal with it he probably would have already caught up with her. Tree branches scraped across his face as they moved into the forest. He wasn't watching where he was placing his feet, luck guiding his footfalls away from roots and stones.  Trees gave way to a large mountain in front of him. The woman was nowhere to be seen. He'd lost her. His shoulders slumped as he bent over to catch his breath. Despite being the first to follow, Pierce was the last to join the group at the base of the mountain. "How did you lose her?!" Ciara snapped. She wasn't angry with him, more so the situation in general. "I don't fuckin know! I was on her heels and then she was just fuckin gone! Ya think I wanted to?!" He growled, fists balled at his sides.
Ben stepped in between the two. He was the oldest of the group and was taking charge for the moment. No one had any objections to follow him, except Gat. But that was because he didn't take orders from anyone except Boss. "Calm down, both of you. Ripping each other apart ain't gonna fix jack shit." Ciara sighed and let her shoulders fall. "I know...I'm sorry."  Johnny scowled, blowing the man off. "Fuck off with your sage bullshit. You're only calm cause now ya get to be in charge. I bet ya been waitin for this moment." He got up in the other man's face, shoving past him. His fist slammed into solid rock.
"You can't punch it out of the way, you know." Asha rolled her eyes. She was beyond tired of his antics and he didn't scare her in the slightest. A loud cracking sound filled the air for a few brief moments. A split formed just above Gat's busted knuckles. Slowly it spread a few feet up and stopped. Chunks of what was presumably granite began to fall away, revealing a large cave entrance. "I'll be damned..." Shaundi crossed her arms over her chest.  Without word Gat burst into the cave, positive he was back on the alien woman's trail. Not far past the entranceway darkness consumed him. However, it didn't slow him down. Blackness gave way to warm firelight as he moved into a larger room. Blood droplets stained the dirt floor, leading Gat onward. At the far end of the opening was a makeshift door with torches on either side.
Slowly he pushed it open and crept inside. The scent of flowers overwhelmed him. There were several homemade planter boxes jammed with flowers. Aside from the plants and it being a cave, the area looked like a living room. The alien woman he'd seen before was fussing over something at what he assumed was a kitchen counter.   Anxiety resumed its' position in his stomach, thoughts of him being eaten alive by her filled his mind. Not paying attention to where he was walking his foot collided with a pebble. The stone pinged off of the wall and alerted the woman in front of him. He yanked out one of his daggers and put it to her throat. "Where is he." He was done messing around.  Her deep red eyes went wide. Now that she was facing him, Gat could see the blood on her arms and clothes. His jaw clenched as he got ready to slice her throat open. She raised an arm and gestured behind him. He glanced over his shoulder at a small cloth door.
Johnny put his blade away and moved over to the door, pulling it back. It was hiding a small room. In the center a cot was set up, trays holding bowls of water and bloodied cloth were next to it. Boss was on his back on the makeshift cot.  His pale face was slick with sweat, cheeks extremely rosy. A blanket covered up to his shoulders. His lips parted to let out a weak groan. Johnny's shaky fingers slowly slid into the other man's hair. It was stuck together with dried blood. The curtain blocking off the room opened and the alien woman entered. She had a tray in her hands, a fresh bowl of water and some cloths on it.  "Ya brought him here...to help him?" His gaze moved over to her. She set the tray in front of him, pulling back the blanket covering Boss. He grabbed her wrist before she could pull it past his belly button. He had the feeling his friend wasn't wearing pants and didn't want to completely expose him. Especially, if everyone was on their way over. The woman began taking off Boss' dressings.  They were completely soaked with blood. Though, most of it was dark brown. Fresh blood began to seep out of his wounds. She reached into a small wooden bowl filled with a green paste, rubbing it over the deep gash where his arm used to be connected. The gang leader immediately cried out, toes curling up and teeth-gritting.
Gat hunkered down next to him, attempting to soothe him. Ciara rushed into the room. She'd heard his cry of agony and wanted to be by his side. The room was small so not everyone could fit inside. There was some debate as to whether or not Johnny should be allowed to keep Boss company. Eventually, they decided Gat, Ciara, and CID would stay while the other's waited in the large main room. The AI claimed to be able to help translate. Gat had a lot of questions but honestly, he couldn't care less about asking them. What mattered more was helping his best friend.   "He's gonna get infected in here." Ciara spoke, unable to tear her eyes away from her brothers' open wound. "He needs actual medicine, not this hippy bullshit." She grumbled under her breath. "She kept him alive through the night. I think she knows what she's doin." Gat immediately shut her down. He wasn't about to try and move Boss in the state he was in. Plus, the alien woman was letting him help. It was just keeping him cool and helping him drink. But it was better than doing nothing.  Boss's eyes cracked open, a sliver of pale blue peeking out. "Gat..." his voice was hoarse and dry. "Relax, aight? You're gonna be okay." Johnny reached down and took his best friend's hand. Boss shook his head slightly. "You," there was a long pause of silence as he tried to speak "okay?" Gat's macho demeanor dropped instantly, shoulder slumping and head hanging low.  He was practically on death's doorstep. But all Boss cared about was the other man's safety. "I'm....so fuckin sorry...I shoulda just listened to ya. If I had...ya wouldn't be like this." Gat closed his eyes. The two women shrieking made his eyes snap back open. Boss was attempting to sit up, despite still bleeding everywhere. He leaned heavily against his best friend. Their foreheads rested together, tired blue eyes fixated on the chocolate orbs hidden behind tinted shades. "Not...what I...asked..."
For once Johnny found himself at a complete loss of words. He was completely stunned by the man's actions. It took a moment to come out of the daze. "Lay back down you idiot!" Ciara cried out in panic. As soon as he could think clearly he carefully forced his best friend to lay back down. "The fuck're ya doin?! You're gonna make this shit worse!" He was beyond pissed off. No, he was scared. Terrified even. Normally he didn't think that much into his emotions. But Boss always had a weird effect on him.  Slender fingers gripped Gat's suit collar. "I-I'm aight...shit. Everyone's fine. Don't do that shit. God damn." Johnny huffed, taking a cup of water off a tray. He lifted Boss's head slightly and brought the drink over. "Take it slow." He had to scold the smaller man to stop him from chugging it.   After finishing with whatever she was doing to him, the woman began dressing his wound. Gat held Boss in his arms while the alien and Ciara worked together on his bandages. After it was finished, he laid the smaller man back down.
The room was quiet. Ciara was curled up next to the head of the cot, resting lightly against it. She'd finally fallen asleep after much protest. Boss' breathing had calmed down, it was nowhere near as labored as before. "Cheer up....god...damn." Boss huffed, trying to suck in a decent amount of air. "Ya sound like an eighty-year-old smoker." Gat chuckled. Boss sucked in a deep breath. "Fuck you." He spoke on the exhale. It was much easier to speak that way.
Johnny snickered, running his fingers through his best friend's hair. "Is it...just John..?" A playful smirk was on Boss's lips. Gat sighed and lowered his head. "Jihoon." His cheeks burned with embarrassment. "What?" Boss' brows were furrowed quizzically. "It ain't John. My actual name's Jihoon. Tell anybody and you're fuckin dead, got it?" It was a completely hollow threat. "Jihoon...that's what...you were trying to...hide? Seriously?" He let out a scoff, leading to a coughing fit.  Gat grabbed another glass of water, bringing it to the man's lips. "Fuck off." He grumbled. Honestly, he was relieved. He'd always hated his real name. It was why he always went by Johnny instead. Boss drank slowly, gently pushing away the cup when he was finished. He sighed and closed his eyes. "You know I'm...gonna die, right?" His voice was cold.  "Bullshit, you're-" "she's been sticking...tree sap and mud...in an open wound for like...a full day. I've already got...a fever." He ended up panting, struggling to get in enough air to speak that much. Gat shifted so he was in Boss's face. "I ain't lettin ya eat shit, got it? Imma follow your dumbass and bring ya right back. Got it? Sides, it ain't sap and mud." Johnny's voice was firm.
A small smile spread over Boss's lips. "God damn yer stubborn...it's one hundred percent...mud and sap...maybe some crushed up acorns..." he chuckled, trying to keep from having a coughing fit again. "I ain't...sayin you're gonna die.." Gat frowned, trying to articulate his words. "I'm sensing a but...coming." "Shut up. There's no but...I just...fuck this's hard. Goddammit. Why ya gotta make shit so fuckin difficult." He grumbled, sitting on his rear.   "I didn't...do shit...asshole." Boss huffed. "Nah...that ain't what I..." Johnny sighed and looked at his hands. "Hey," Boss reached out, taking his best friend's hand "me too." Gat's eyes flicked up to the other man's face. He didn't have to say anything for the shorter man to know what he meant. "Ya...ya do?" He got a simple nod. Johnny intertwined their fingers, rubbing the back of his friend's pale hand with his thumb.
A loud rumble woke Gat from his slumber. He had no idea he'd even fallen asleep. A brief moment of panic robbed him of his breath as he got to his feet, checking Boss for a pulse. He let out a sigh of relief at feeling the other man's heartbeat. Slowly, he leaned in and pressed their lips together.  Boss' long lashes fluttered as he came to. He lightly kissed back, groaning as fingers slid into his hair. "You two make a cute couple." Ciara smiled, having caught them red-handed. Gat pulled back immediately. "Fuck off. How long ya been standin there?" He averted his gaze, ears nearly on fire. "Long enough. How're you feeling, Bup?" Her attention moved to her brother.  "Fine..." he frowned, sucking in a deep breath. His eyes widened and he slowly sat up. "Um...so I didn't imagine the being ripped apart thing...but I feel...fine. Like, actually fine." Johnny was immediately fussing over him, trying to get him to lay back down. Max's face lit up with excitement. "I want a bionic arm! Dude, I could be a fuckin cyborg!"   "I'll talk with the nerd squad and see what they can do." Ciara laughed, moving over to feel his forehead. Sure enough, his fever was completely gone. His skin wasn't clammy at all. "Sit still, I'm gonna check under your dressings." She began taking off the bandages. Her fingers pressed against the healed skin. Boss flinched away. "Does that hurt?" "Fuck no, it tickles. Quit."  "I told ya it wasn't tree sap and mud." Johnny smirked triumphantly. "No mud, but there was sap. According to Alyssa, this stuff doesn't even work this well on her people." Ciara frowned slightly, taking the bandages off of him completely. "Her name's Alyssa?" Boss rose a skeptical eyebrow. "No, that's what Matt and Pierce are calling her. Said she seems like an Ally." She rolled her eyes.
Boss climbed off the cot, stretching slightly. "Balance is wonky. Gonna have to get used to that." He grabbed Johnny's shoulder to steady himself. "I got ya, lean on me, Bubby." His face went red as the last word left his lips. "I'm sorry? Did you give me a god damn pet name already?" Boss couldn't help it, teasing the other was too much fun. "Fuck off. It fit, bring it up again and I'll kill ya." Gat's gaze fell on his boyfriend's lower half, suddenly aware of the fact he had no pants on.  "The air's so thick with love, god yer just so cuddly...like a huggable cactus." Boss mused. He was well aware he was being a little shit. "I liked it better when ya couldn't talk." Gat grumbled under his breath. Even though he was being harassed, it relieved him to know Boss was feeling that much better. "Yeah, sure. So...can we blow this popsicle stand? I kinda wanna take an actual bath." Boss shook his wrist out. He was clearly antsy to move around. Ciara gestured for him to lead the way. He moved past her going straight for the door. Her eyes widened as she grabbed the blanket he'd been covered with.
The curtain shifted as Boss entered the large living area. The crew was sitting on the floor, playing Yahtzee with a wooden cup and stones. "Yahtzee! I win!" Matt crossed his arms over his chest in victory. "Matt...that's not how this works...we just started this round." Jay pinched the bridge of his nose. His purple hair fell over his face. "I got all fives. I win." Matt protested. "Let's go back to eye spy, shall we?" Asha suggested in an attempt to keep the peace.  "Shit and I thought the party was in my room." Boss gave a warm smile, attempting to cross his arms over his chest. He frowned when his arm didn't catch anything. "Oh yeah." He laughed awkwardly. The room was filled with shocked silence. A cold breeze blew across his legs, reminding him of the fact that he'd been stripped when he was treated. "I have no pants on..." Ciara draped the blanket over him. "Alright, this's already going great. Why did neither of you say anything." He turned around to face his sister and lover.
Gat's focus had been locked on Boss' ass the entire time, having zoned completely out. "I didn't think you'd walk right out and show everyone your wing wang." Ciara shrugged apologetically. "Don't...don't call it that." Boss puffed out his cheeks before letting the air in his mouth out. "I've already seen his wing wang." Kinzie raised her hand. "So have I." Keith shuddered at the thought. "I thought it would be smaller." Asha sounded rather impressed. "Okay, that's it, no more. We're leaving. You've all had yer fun. Shoo, shoo." He waved at them with his hand, trying to get them to start leaving.  Boss had slipped back into his blood-soaked suit. It was freezing due to how wet it still was. But he only had to wear it for a little while. "How come Kinzie and Keith already saw your-" "I swear to god if you call it a wing wang I will kill you." Boss looked at Johnny, cutting him off. "I was gonna say dick."
"We were all naked in those pods, Johnny. They busted me out. Pretty sure you can do the math. I didn't whip it out and show em." Boss huffed. A small smirk slowly spread over his lips. "Why...are you jealous?" Johnny scowled immediately. "Fuck no." "Okay sure, whatever you say man." Boss mused, reaching down and taking the Asian man's hand. Despite pretending to be standoffish he intertwined their fingers.   It was a long walk back to the ship and Boss was getting extremely fatigued. "Gimme a sec okay?" He bent over, resting his hand on his knee. Gat gestured for the others to go on ahead. Ciara hung back, checking him over. "I'm fine. It's just the balance thing that's fuckin with me. It makes me really dizzy." He normally wasn't one to legitimately complain so it was clearly a serious problem.  "Johnny, carry him the rest of the way. That should help out. Close yer eyes if you have to." Ciara pulled her hand away from her brother's forehead, having checked for a fever. "Aight." Gat bent over to pick Boss up. The ground shook underneath them, knocking both Johnny and Boss off their feet.
The dirt in front of them erupted and sent sediment flying. A massive hand burst from the large hole. Dread filled Ciara's stomach as she frantically tried to get the two men to their feet. Huge, spindly fingers slammed down next to her. A blood curdling, high pitch screech filled the air. Her hands clapped over her ears as she fell to her knees.  Johnny pushed himself up, dragging the two out of the way just in time for the second hand to land where they'd been. The force sent them skidding across the rocky expanse. The beast was completely out in the open, towering over the trio. A knife-like leg swung down at the ground over Ciara. It was as sharp as it looked, cutting Gat's hands as he managed to catch it before it pierced her. The pressure was immense and he could barely hold it. His knees shook, threatening to give out.
The black-haired woman rolled out of the way just as it slipped through Johnny's bloodied hands. He stumbled back and fell on his rear, shoulders heaving.  Boss had finally managed to get to his feet as a powerful gust of wind slammed into him. He clenched his eyes shut and leaned into it, focusing on being as heavy as possible. A long black leg stabbed into the ground where he was standing. Gats' eyes widened and heart dropped.  Max sidestepped the attack with ease. Johnny scrambled to his feet in an attempt to get to his best friend. The Titan bellowed again, causing another gust of air to catch the group. Gat was knocked on his ass. Ciara was pinned to the ground by the pressure.
Despite the force on him, Boss was able to move against the wind. The leg that had almost skewered him lifted up, slamming down attempting to kill him once more. He dodged it again and again and again. The entity was frantically skittering around in an attempt to pin him down. It even began trying to crush him with its hands.  A smirk spread over Boss' lips as he continued to move around, slipping between attacks. He dodged a hand before leaping onto the back of it. A leg followed him, stabbing downward. The creature shrieked and began flailing about. But it was unable to pull the knife-like appendage from its' own hand. Boss backed off as the creature became enraged, striking out of its' normal pattern. The back of his calf was slit open as he narrowly avoided being turned into a kabob.
He grit his teeth, wrapping his hand around the leg he began to climb up it. He was lifted high into the air and flung around. Obsidian cut into his skin as he clung on. Blood loosened his grip before causing him to slip. Fear gripped his entire body as he went into free fall. Flashbacks of the night over Steelport ran in his mind, making his stomach lurch. He contorted his body to glide as best he could. His fingernails dug into pale, dead flesh as he tried to cling to the titans' body. He'd managed to land on the creature's shoulder.
Long, sharp fingers darted towards him. He narrowly dodged them, lunging towards the beasts' neck and hanging onto its ear. He was extremely high up and it was causing him to shake. His gaze fell on his sister and Johnny on the ground, steeling his resolve. Another hand full of blade-like fingers slashed at him. He jumped as high as he could. The fingers slid into the gray flesh of the monstrosity's neck.   Adrenaline pumped through his veins as the being thrashed about, fingers desperately clinging to the cartilage of its ear. What he assumed was blood was gushing out of the deep gash left by the fingers. Both hands were still stuck in place. "Gat! Knife me!" He didn't have a weapon on hand. Luckily, Johnny always did.
Gat's eyes widened in disbelief. "How in the fuck am I supposed to...fuckin Christ." He growled, taking out a knife. He gripped it by the tip before pulling his arm back. He whipped his arm forward and released the blade. The creature threw its' head back and Boss let go. He was sent spiraling up into the air. His fingers closed around the hilt of Johnnys' knife.  "Eat shit, fucker!" He cried out, coming back down still spinning. He drove the blade deep into the skull of the Titan. His body collided with the beast and he was bounced off, losing his grip on the knife sticking out of the top of its head. The monster stumbled around in a daze, dark black liquid drenching its horrendous body. Boss hit the ground hard in front of the creature. A low screech escaped its throat before it pitched forward. A blast of wind radiated out from it as it slammed into the dirt.
Johnny grabbed Ciara and held her close, keeping her from being blown away. The dust settled and the environment went calm. They were both covered in dust as if they'd been in a sand storm. Johnny released her boyfriends' sister and rushed to the beast. He placed both bloodied hands on it and began trying to lift it. "Boss!" He was frantically trying to get underneath it to fish out his best friend.  Ciara moved to his side, lifting with her knees as best as she could. It was no use but they kept trying. The rest of the crew burst from the tree line. They'd been trying to get through but all of the commotion kept halting their progress. "Help...help lift...he's under..." Ciara was completely out of breath. Shaundi wrapped her up in a hug, pulling her close. Ben king bent down on the other side of the beast's corpse.
"Maybe if we all lift we can get to him." Johnny clenched his jaw, continuing to try and pick up the behemoth. "Johnny..." Asha placed her hand on his shoulder. "Get offa me and help!" Gat snapped, shrugging off her hand. "Everyone calm your shit." Ben king sighed, moving over to them. Boss laid out cold in his arms. "He wasn't underneath it, C." "Is he..?" Gat's gaze landed on his best friend.  Boss' chest rose and fell slowly, shoulders moving ever so slightly with each breath. "He's alive, let's get him back to the ship, people." Ben handed Boss over to Johnny who immediately cradled him as best as he could. Gat watched every step he took as they moved, it was a painstaking process but he didn't dare trip. His gaze kept flicking between Boss' face and the ground in front of him.
Johnny set Boss on the bed in the med bay. Ciara began connecting him to all of the sensors to get a read on his vitals. Normally the two couldn't even agree on where to go to lunch. When it came to protecting Boss they didn't even need to speak to each other to know what to do. They moved around each other with ease, Ciara checking machines and Johnny getting out cleaning solution for wounds.   Despite the fall and being thrown around, Boss had only minor bruises and scratches. The only exception was his calf that had been gashed. A few stitches and a bandage took care of it. Ciara turned her attention to Johnny. "Stick out your hands, palms up." He did as she asked, sitting on a bed next to his boyfriend. "Thank you, for protecting me back there." She gave a small smile, pressing a cloth with rubbing alcohol on it into Gat's cuts. He sucked in a deep breath. "Don't mention it."
"These're gonna need stitches. You want me to numb it or you want whiskey?" She held a bottle out to him. He shook his head. "Neither. Just do it." He'd sewn himself up plenty of times without any help of booze or numbing agents. Boss had sewn him up plenty too. A warm smile spread over his lips as he thought about every time they'd gotten yelled at for using dental floss as thread.   She shrugged and began patching the man up. She hated knowing it was hurting him. Even though they didn't get along most of the time she hated when people suffered. Especially people close to her. That was why she wanted to become a doctor, to begin with. But she never even got to finish nursing school. "All better, you want a sticker?"
"I will hit a woman, ya know." Gat said dryly. It was an empty threat but got his point across. She chuckled and moved away from him. "So, this's gonna make me as uncomfortable as it does you. Until these come out, no masturbating, no extreme lifting, no punching, no fighting or killing. Basically, if you have to stretch your palms to do it, don't. Got it?" She began cleaning up the trash from sewing him up. "That's like...fuckin everythin. How long do these gotta be in?" Johnny frowned. "Probably a week, depends on how fast you heal. Seriously, if you rip the stitches putting in more's gonna hurt even worse." She sighed. "Why'd you say no to booze anyway? Normally that's the one you pick." "Don't wanna be drunk when he wakes up or if he needs me." Gat got up and sat beside his boyfriend.
He let out a deep sigh as he realized he couldn't run his fingers through the other mans' hair. He set his hand on top of Boss' instead. "So...ya think they can actually make him an arm?" "I mean...there's a mech suit in here and the three of em are pretty damn smart. The chances are pretty good. I'll go talk to Matt, Kinzie, and Jay about it. You rest up. If you need anything, hit the panic button. I'll come running." She turned and left the two.  "That was pretty fun..." Boss mumbled quietly. "You're up?" Gat looked down at him in surprise. "Mm, yeah. Kinda. I might go back to sleep. Depends on how nice you are." "Eat shit." Johnny chuckled. "Wow, a nap's looking pretty good right now." Boss stretched, scooching closer to the man beside him. "If ya wanna sleep more, do it." Johnny moved so Boss could set his head in his lap. "Fine...like thirty more minutes. Seriously, don't lemme sleep longer than that." His stern gaze met with Johnny's. "Aight, Bub. Thirty minutes." Boss sighed and relaxed into the other man, closing his eyes and drifting off.
