Day One (technically Day Two):
Dear Diary,
Hello! I am Phillager the Villager! The other villagers call me Phil for short. I started this diary because my mum tells me to and says that when I am an adult villager, I can remember what happened when I was a little kid. Sorry for the mess on the first 'Day One', my little brother Willager wrote the 'hrrh' part when I wasn't looking. He hasn't learnt how to write or talk, so he was writing baby speak for us. My mum Gillager is a farmer villager and my dad Jillager is a blacksmith, so we are richer than normal villagers since Minecraftians like to trade with us more since our trades are more useful to surviving. (Yeah, everyone in our village is named something that rhymes with 'villager'. Weird, right?) We are a village where everyone has a say on something, with no ruler of any kind. We have freedom, and that's how we like it. That's all I'm going to write today, since it's already evening and we don't want the scary night monsters killing or infecting us. Goodnight, diary.
Day Two
Dear Diary,
Today, the guards found a Minecraftian heading in the way of our village. They estimate that the Minecraftian is going to arrive tomorrow night so everyone is getting their trades ready so we put the best prices and hope he is going to buy something. Oh, Mum's calling me now, diary. Bye for now.
Day Two-Second Entry
What a day! Today I helped my mum and dad tidy their stocks and trades. I assisted my mum by harvesting the crops and sorting them into different chests so we could find the stocks easily. I also helped my dad by straightening the weapons in the item frames and crafted some last-minute armor. Now we wait for him to arrive.
Day Three
Even now, as I am sitting at my desk in my room with the Minecraftian sleeping outside in the living room, I still can't believe the fact that I helped save the whole village. Now, you might ask, "How did that happen?"
When the Minecraftian arrived, we saw that he had nothing on him, not even something in his hands. We shuffled over to him, but he pushed us out of the way and said, "Sorry about that, but look! Zombies!" We realized that we were too focused on him and didn't see that mobs were chasing after him. The guards immediately began shutting the gate, but a few mobs still slipped into the village! The Minecraftian suddenly yelled, "I need a sword!" I immediately ran back home as fast as my little Villager legs could carry me and ran back out with an iron sword, a bow, a stack of arrows and a golden chestplate, which were all lying on the table. I tossed all of them to the Minecraftian, but he only got the chestplate and the sword. He ran to the mobs and immediately plunged the sword into a zombie's chest, then jumped and decapitated a skeleton. He then made quick work of two more zombies. When the coast was clear, everyone cheered and walked over to pat him on the back, and some even gave him better deals for cheaper prices! As we all walked over, I glimpsed something green by the well. Hmm, I don't remember dirt being there so there shouldn't be any grass... So I turned back but couldn't believe my eyes.
"CREEPER BY THE WELL!" I screamed. The creeper was sneaking over to us! I saw that most of the village were still dumbfounded and decided that I had to act fast since the Minecraftian was still pulling his armor on. I then pulled back my bow, inserted an arrow and fired at its head. I missed. I nocked again and hit its body, forcing it a few steps back. By then, the Minecraftian was speeding towards the creeper and jumped up into the air and struck it, so he could deal a critical hit of damage. The creeper was knocked flying but stood up again soon after. It was starting to explode! I saw the Minecraftian's eyes widen and realized that he was also starting to panic. I knew that if he rushed forward to kill it, it would be too late. I nocked a last arrow and waited until it charged to full so it would get maximum damage and released it, also hoping that it would actually hit the creeper since I was nowhere near being skilled with a bow and arrow, but I knew in my heart that it was too late. Nothing would stop the creeper anymore. I closed my eyes and waited for the inevitable BOOM...
...which never came. After a few minutes, I opened my eyes and saw the whole village staring at me in awe, even the Minecraftian. Everyone then cheered, "Hurrah for Phil!"
"It was nothing," I replied. The next hours until 3 o'clock in the morning was filled with partying and singing. Everyone was joking that me and the Minecraftian, (who was called Jay, by the way) were best partners and should be called the 'Monster Slayer Duo' and after some chatting with Jay, we became friends. I begged my mum and dad to let him stay I our house for now and they gave in, which replies to the start of this diary entry. Well, its too late now, I got to go to sleep.
Day Four
Today, I showed Jay our village. We first went to the farms to visit Mum, where we both helped her harvest some crops like carrots and wheat. Mum even gave us a whole cake for lunch! After scoffing the whole lot, we went off to help Dad, who taught us how to fight with swords and shields, along with bow and arrow! He said that if we were the 'Monster Slayer Duo', then we would have to learn how to fight properly. So, that was how me and Jay spent the whole afternoon practicing with weapons. Jay was more agile, so he practiced with a sword and shield while I used a bow and arrow, as I preferred to pick off enemies from a distance. We both learned a lot today and went back home trying to remember the different tactics of both weapons.
Day Twenty-Five
These days have gone quite uneventful, so I decided not to write them down. However, something shocking has happened: the guards spotted a bunch of grey villagers of some kind who were carrying crossbows! The guards reported this to everyone and said that they would arrive in about three days, and we were about to start stocking up for trades when Jay suddenly spoke up," Villagers! I have heard from my other friends before and they said that the grey villagers are called 'Pillagers', and they kill villagers!" Everyone was taken aback but we believed him.
"Then what do we do?" One villager asked.
" I think we should make some defenses around the village while I and Phil fight them off!" Jay replied.
"We can?" I asked.
"Yes! And quickly too, since they are vicious killers!"
I glanced at Mum and Dad, unsure of whether I should go. Mum disapproved, since she thought it was 'too dangerous', she said. However, Dad said to us, "Honey, I know that fighting the pillagers will be dangerous and possibly even cost Phil and Jays' life, but I'm confident that with their fighting skills, they will be fine." Mum nodded and sniffled.
"Okay, Phil, I will let you go and defend the village, but you must promise t come back safely."
"No problem, Mum!" I exclaimed and held up a mock salute.
" Well, we should ask Jay what defenses we have to piece together." I said, then we walked over as Jay started telling us about what we needed to create the traps and how we could construct them.
Day Twenty-Eight
Today is the day we battle the plundering pillagers. We have been making a lot of defenses, so I haven't got a chance to write anything with my dad doing some last- minute training with me and Jay. When the pillagers were in sight, me and Jay got ready to set off. We both donned full diamond armor, enchanted with Unbreaking III, Projectile Protection IV and Protection IV, to ensure our safety. Jay got an Unbreaking III, Fire Aspect II and Sharpness V sword, while I got an Infinity, Power V, Unbreaking III and Flame bow. We said our last goodbyes and strode gallantly to meet our foes on the battlefield...
What will happen to Phil the Villager and Jay the Minecraftian next? Will they succeed in fighting off the evil Pillagers and save the village or is the village going to be destroyed? Read Diary of Phil the Villager, Book Two: Pillager Problems (not released yet!) to find out!
