i sprinted quickly behind the shopping outlet, still not stopping once the cop wasn't in sight. my worn down black hoodie kept me nothing but warm as the wind hit me like a punch to the face.

i built up speed, going as fast as i could when i heard footsteps behind me. i could envision the dirty cell in my head. i couldn't go back to juvie. not today, not ever. my body felt like it was going to collapse once i jumped the tall fence infront of me and kept running through the thick weeds and trees surrounding me.

once i finally got through the forest and to the worn down shack in the empty spot in the forest me and the boys called home, i slammed my hands against the wooden exterior walls. i breathed quick then slow, heavily then lightly. i got dizzy and my vision quickly clouded. i shook my head, trying to get ahold of myself.

once my breathing steadied and my vision slowly cleared, i looked over to see alejandro and alvaro looking at me with a concerned look plastered across both of their faces.

"w- what?" i smiled awkwardly. "you good?" alvaro asked. when i nodded, alejandro sighed and shook his head, "you gotta stop getting yourself into situations 'ya can't handle, tia."

"i know, but this one was worth-" i tried explaining but ale interrupted me, "you always say that. it's just a dumb excuse now."
i turned to face him, and reassured him, "no ale, it was really worth it this time. i stole this one couples bags, and they're worth a lot. they're like fenti or chanel shit."

alvaros face lit up, and a small smile grew across alejandros. it felt pretty good to know i could take care of them, or atleast make them happy. they were all i had.

after i turned 14, alejandro and kairi tried moving in with me, but my mom ended up kicking all of us out and we were left to the streets. maybe it was because we were total dickheads back then and couldn't keep our record clean. anyway, alvaro caught up with us a month later after his dad passed in a car accident, and here we are now, 2 years later.

"come on now, get inside" i gestured my hand through the doorway and they went inside. "yea yea okay dad-" alejandro stopped speaking as he saw the look on alvaros face, "i mean mom."

alvaro was the sensitive one of the 4 of us, and got emotional whenever someone talked about a dad. i get it though, i mean it would be mad irritating to have to keep it together if someone was always talking about one of your dead loved ones.

"anyways, where's kairi?" i asked, sitting down on the wooden kitchen table on the side of 'our' bedroom-sized shack. we really never used the table as an actual dining table. usually as everything far from it actually. alvaro and ale sat on the wooden floor of our tiny place.

"he's out with a friend" ale said, looking up at me. "probably wasting good money" alvaro said and rolled his eyes. "let him live a little. he hasn't been out in a couple weeks..." i sighed and smiled a little while looking at the two of them, "he always stays here looking after the house."

ale laughed a little then whispered something in alvaros ear, making him laugh too. "what?" i rolled my eyes. "kairi is our little house wife" alvaro blurted out, then giggled a little after.

okay maybe that was true.

"that's pretty hot." i said and smirked. alejandro and alvaro already knew i was gay for kairi, but hopefully they were used to it by now.

"pfft maybe, 'ya lovebird." ale giggled.

it was honestly nice to just chill with the boys, but it would've been better if kai was here too. but then i remembered we had shit to do. "we gotta go turn in these bags, remember?" i grabbed my iphone 6, checking the time. it was 5:43 pm, "before 6:30" i added.
