great. they're fighting again. for the last few weeks all it's been is constant arguments over pointless topics. and to be frank, I'm getting sick of it. laying in bed every night listening to my mum moaning "why didn't you wash the plates?" "why didn't you take Charlotte to school?" i think dad was getting sick of it too. the arguing continued downstairs until I heard my mum scream & a thump on the floor. at that point Beck, our family dog, started barking uncontrollably. i slowly reached for the cold handle of the door trying to open it silently. me being me obviously it creaked. fortunately only loud enough for me to hear. I creeped across the landing to the top step to see my dad frantically pacing, mumbling something to him self. I was debating whether or not to move to a lower step to see what had happened. but something stopped me. I glanced at the front door to see a silhouette of a man just standing at the door. i thought of those cliché movies where the hot girl gets killed by a guy in a mask. but it was actually happening to me. as he started pounding harder on the door my heart raced faster. the pounds were getting louder with each thud until finally it flung open and he just stood there. staring. the moonlight reflected off something shiny in his hand. it was a gun. he was holding a gun. a gun. he walked slowly towards my dad, and out of my sight. a gunshot echoed through the house. I froze. no breathe. just frozen. why aren't I breathing? gods sake Olivia breathe. still frozen. frozen with fear. I looked down anticipating a stream of blood coming from a place in my body. nothing. dad. he's dead. a murders in my house. mums well I have no idea. and my sisters asleep. why isn't she awake? she must've heard the gun shot. that child can sleep through anything. an appearing figure distracted me from my thoughts. I ran back to my room and slammed the door. slammed the door. not even thinking about it. well if he didn't see me before he defiantly heard me now. I crawled under my sheets hoping I could just disappear into darkness. it's eerily silent now. all I can hear is me breathing heavily and my beating heart and my scattered thoughts. then I heard a floorboard creak. I starred at the door. just looking. anticipating. waiting. after what felt like years the silver knob on my door twisted. it swung open to leave him standing there staring at me. I woke up panting and sweating realising it was just a dream. no it wasn't. it was a memory.
