"I don't owe you an explanation"
Y/N- Your Name
C/N- Crush's NameYou were in the middle of walking home from a frat party near the end of the night. Your mind was not the best at focusing at the time with how tipsy you were. A breeze hit your arms through your sweater as it was the beginning of December. This party was supposed to be fun, a nice change in things, to get your mind off of things with C/n, but it left you more worn and tired than ever.
It was around 1 am when you had arrived at the edge of your driveway. Walking up the smooth grey pavement you see a shadowy figure walking towards you. It was too dark to process the figure but you saw the outline of what you remember being C/n's hair. Words came out of your mouth slurred as you called his name "C/n?" He slowly approached you, being careful, noticing your drunken state in front of him.
The street light nearby lit up his face the closer he was to you. It was definitely C/n, you would know those bright eyes and handsome face from anywhere. Being best friends for a few years has made you aware of all his details, and you slowly realizing that over time you've fallen in love with all those details harder and harder every day. "What are you doing here?" you say, almost tripping over your own feet trying to get closer towards him. "Well, you weren't answering your phone so I came here and your roommate said you were at a party so I figured I would wait a bit to make sure you got home." "Oh..." you murmured softly. "Yea, and waiting a bit turned into waiting for hours...I was worried." He said while looking down at his shoes, seeming to be a little embarrassed.
You felt really guilty and wanted to apologize, but a part of your mind, the drunken part, began to say something else. "Well, I didn't ask you to wait for me, and shouldn't you be with that Beth girl right now." You don't know what came over you, but then you remembered the whole reason you went to the party in the first place.
Earlier in the day, near the commons of your college, you had seen C/n with a girl. They seemed close and the way he hugged her had made your heart ping with what seemed like, jealousy. You stood there for a second but then quickly ran home and burst into your apartment, startling your roommate that was half-asleep on the couch. "What's with the big entrance?" She mumbled while slowly getting up. "C/n was with another girl, he hugged her with so much care and I just wanted to end it all right then and there. I want to be the one getting those hugs! Who even was that girl?" Miranda looked at you with sympathy as she realized what this was about. "I'm pretty sure her name is Beth, I've seen them around campus a couple of times studying." Your heart dropped after her sentence came out. You needed a distraction from the hurt you were feeling and then, an idea popped into your head. The party you had been hearing about was tonight and it was the best opportunity to get your mind off of C/n.
Later in the evening, you had arrived at the party. Getting tipsy was what you thought you needed, but now speaking to C/n, it was making you sober up, real quick. "What does Beth have to do with this?" He spoke in confusion. "Nothing. It doesn't matter." You said while avoiding his stare. "You're right, it doesn't, but what does mater is why you're coming home so late and why you're drunk right now. This isn't like you." "I don't owe you an explanation C/n!" He stepped back after you yelled and took a deep breath. "I'm your best friend and I care about you. What's with you?" "I'm in love with you, ok! I have been for a while and it hurts knowing you've been hanging with some other girl who you never even mentioned to me!" You blurted out quickly. He stopped in his tracks as he moved his eyes to yours. You instantly regretted ever speaking and cowered back as your eyes began to avoid his.
C/n walked towards you and lifted your chin with his right hand, making your eyes gain contact. "First, Beth is only my tutor. My grades are going down and the professor suggested it." Your eyes widened and your cheeks were tainted pink with embarrassment. "Second, I think you should know that I'm in love with you as well, and I would like to kiss you if that's ok?" You gave a sheepish smile as you nodded your head in a slow manner. You guys leaned in, closing your eyes as your lips softly met. His lips were a little chapped due to the cold weather and you assumed your's were as well, but they fit together perfectly like puzzle pieces. The moment was all you had hoped for and you knew there would be more to come. His lips came off yours and you guys stood there grinning widely at each other. Then a snowflake landed on your nose, then in his hair, and you guys looked up into the sky. It had begun snowing beautifully from the night sky. "Wow, the first snow of winter." You said looking at C/n while smiling. He simply showed you a toothy grin as you guys started to laugh, later going inside. You spent the rest of the night basking in each other's warmth keeping the other content throughout the rest of the night into morning.
