Later that afternoon, Taehyung sat down with the group in the grass outside, near the top of the stairs that led to Hagrid's cabin. Taehyung had kindly asked the elves in the kitchen for some sandwiches to go, since none of them were in the mood to go to the Great Hall. It would be packed with people.
"Are you guys going to class after lunch?" Hoseok asked, breaking the comfortable silence.
Taehyung, munching on a tuna sandwich, shook his head. "No way. I've skipped enough classes today while being passed out to skip the last ones too."
"Figures." Jungkook said, nodding in agreement.
"I'm definitely going." Namjoon said. "Jungkook is too, aren't you, Kook?"
"Yeah, we have Defense Against the Dark Arts." Jungkook nodded. "We have to see if Crawford is there, see what he's been up to."
Taehyung looked at them with a worried frown. Jungkook and Namjoon didn't have to ask him why he was looking at them like that, it was obvious.
Namjoon flashed him a grin. "Don't worry, Taehyung-ah."
Taehyung pouted at that and looked at Jungkook, who smiled at him. He couldn't help but feel worried for the two, even though he was sure they could handle the teacher better than he could. They were the smartest two of the group, after all.
Taehyung trusted them, but he still felt worried.
"Well, I'm going to find Kkanji for you." Jimin said with a closed-eyed smile as he got up from the grass, patting his robes to clear the sand and grass from them.
Taehyung perked up at that, a happy twinkle in his eyes. "I've missed him..." he smiled.
"He ought to be somewhere near Celia and the no-longer-kittens." Jimin chuckled. "I'll go find him to cheer you up, alright? You stay here with the others."
Taehyung nodded happily and Jimin left to search for the red cat that never failed to make Taehyung smile. It really didn't take that long, only minutes later Jimin came running with the cat in his arms. Kkanji mewed loud and happy and didn't wait for Jimin to put him down on the ground. He jumped straight out of the boy's arms, running into Taehyung's lap.
"Hey there buddy." Taehyung chuckled, patting the happy cat.
Taehyung laughed and chatted with the cat, while the other six boys just smiled at the fact that Taehyung wasn't pouting anymore.
When lunchtime was over, Namjoon and Jungkook got on their feet, bidding the other five farewell because they had a class to attend. They agreed to meet up later – not just to see if the two boys found out about Crawford, but also because it was time for them to send their parents some letters.
Yoongi left after he mumbled something about detention which reminded Hoseok he had detention later as well.
"Shouldn't you go to class then? You'll get in more trouble." Jin pointed out.
Hoseok quickly scrambled up to his feet, realizing Jin was right. "Whoops, gotta go then, BYE!"
And with that, he too left, leaving Taehyung with Jimin and Jin.
"Where shall we go?" Jimin asked.
Taehyung looked at him with a thinking look, still petting the cat in his lap. "Maybe we should just go back to the castle and chill somewhere. I remember I had a stock of candy before things went bad and I lost memories and stuff. Maybe it's still there?"
