Chapter Nine

The Palace Garden
Sue's POV

It was twelve noon when I was closing the shop by myself. Miss Loisa and Louise left because they were invited to a fancy feast in the South. They may be a middle class but I'm pretty sure that they are rich but they can't be called a high class because they don't own much lands and businesses. Nora on the other hand left early because her brother was sick and no one was there to take care of her brother.

So I was left on closing the store today and I don't mind at all. It wasn't my first time anyway because Nora taught me how to close the store. Nora and I get along very well since she was a a great person to talk with. I really feel bad about her sick brother. I should pay her a visit soon.

I let out a breath as soon as I finished closing the store. Since it was Saturday I have my day off this afternoon and tomorrow for the whole day. What should I do during my free time?

I sat on the ground as I wait for Felix. I wonder why he didn't show up for the past 2 days. I never saw him after that night but I still waited for him though and would go home when realization will hit me that he won't come. I just hope that there's nothing bothering him.

I looked around and watched the villagers being busy with their own errands. I assume that these people don't have day offs like me. They need to work to make a living. I was relieved when I noticed that there were no more soldiers getting the villager's silver. But the town wasn't peaceful, you could still see soldiers walking around.

I gasped when soft hands covered my eyes. "I'm sorry for making you wait." He whispered in my ear. I smile appeared on my face as soon as I recognized the owner of the voice.

"Felix?" I held his hand that was covering my eyes.

"Who is Felix?" He joked.

"Well if you aren't Felix, then I should be going now." I took his hand off my eyes without turning around. Does he think that he's the only one who can play around? Not on my watch Lewis. I started to walk away from him. I wonder how his face looks like?

I stopped walking as soon as I felt his strong arms around me. Everything started to become slow and I couldn't hear anything except for his breath. My heart started to thump loudly and faster. I hope he wouldn't hear my heartbeat because that would be really embarrassing.

As he was back hugging me, he rested his chin on my shoulder. I was electrified with his touch. My breathing started to get faster when he hugged me a little tighter.

"I'm Felix, your Felix." He said with his chin on my shoulder, looking front. His voice was too deep that my heart couldn't even take. What he is doing right now is too much for me.

I couldn't move a muscle, it was like he cast a spell on me. "How long did you wait for me?" He removed his arms around me and faced me.

I couldn't utter a single word. My mouth wouldn't let me and my heart never stopped pounding. I just looked at him and noticed that he looked very tired and his eye bags was visible. But he still looked handsome.

"Sue are you sick?" He touched my forehead and looked at me with a worried face.

I gathered all my strength and removed his hand from my forehead. "I a-am not si-sick Fe-felix. Don't worry a-about me." I gave him a smile to convince him that I was okay. Please don't tell me that I was stuttering in front of him.

He grabbed my hand and started walking. "Have you eaten your lunch already?" He asked but my attention was on our hands holding. "Sue?" He called me.

"Pardon?" What was he saying?

"I was asking you if you had eaten your lunch already." He raised his brows while waiting for an answer.
