"Luke! It's time to go! You're going to be late for school!" Luke jerked awake. He looked at the black clock, it read nine-o-five. Darn! He slept in again! He quickly jumped out of bed. He threw on the first thing he could find which happen to be dark blue jeans and a light blue collard t-shirt. He realized he hadn't responded to him mom. "Coming mom!" He grabbed his black and grey backpack and dashed out of his bedroom door. Just before he reached the stairs, he realized he forgot shoes and socks. He dropped his backpack and dashed back to his room. He opened his dresser and grabbed a black pair of socks. He opened his closet and found his black semi-dress shoes. He hustled out of his room and bounded down the hall. He ran down the carpeted stairs as fast he could.

"Did you sleep in again? Unbelievable." My mom said. "Sorry, I was up late Stu-..." I quickly stopped myself. "Studying?" She gave the mom look. The look that says, "I know everything, and you can't hide it". "I'm going to have to take your books away. This is getting to be a huge problem." She looked at me with a concerned expression. "No mom, it's fine. I'll stop. Just...wait a second, I'm nineteen you can't do that!" I replied defensively. "My house, my rules." Ugh. I hate when she pulls that little stunt of hers. "okay." I reply, because there is nothing else, I can say.

We walked out the door. All the sudden, I feel a sharp pain in my head. "ouch!" I say out loud. "What?" My mom looked at my while unlocking the car. "Um, nothing" I mutter. I don't like telling her when I'm in pain. It only stresses her out. Besides, I'm sure it's nothing. Probably just a headache.

We got in the car and on the way, I didn't feel any more pain. I'm sure I was right and it's nothing. We got to her work and got out. My mom worked at a gym. She had to be there before my school started to, I had to walk to school from here. That's okay though. I liked the exercise, and it was only a quarter mile, so it really wasn't bad at all. But today, would be one of the many days I had to walk fast, or I would be late. So, I hugged my mom, and headed off.

On the walk there I always pass the same things. Trees, a park named Paletelle Park and then a couple houses. Sometimes, it gets a little boring. I looked down at my silver watch to check the time. I had about 5 minutes until the warning bell rang to start heading to class. I had about 15 more minutes of the walk. I sped up. If I was late, my mom would take my books for sure. I wake up late quite often, but usually I can make it on time to school because I don't want to be late. Today would be different. I kind of just didn't really care. I was exhausted.

I eventually wandered onto school campus. By then I would be 5 minutes late. I walked up to the school doors and walked in. Since I went to college now, I didn't have to go sign in. I probably would still be in high school, but I'm so advanced everything was kind of boring. It's the same here but my mom wants me to go to college, so I am.

I guess I'm kind of what people like to call "a young genius". I studied a lot throughout my life and I really got ahead. I've passed every class with good grades. The lowest I've ever gotten was a B+. And that was because I was out for a week with the flu. That was the only time I got any grade lower than an A-. My mom and a couple of her friends think I'm going to go on and become the next Albert Einstein or something. I could. Not to brag or anything, but some people don't realize how much knowledge I have. It would be terrible if it was all lost.

I tried to remember which classes I had today. Oh, biology first. Then I had math and advanced computer sciences later. I walked through the main area and went to the left. I considered taking the elevator, but I think it would take longer than sprinting up the stairs. So I pass it, and swing around the corner and start my way up the stairs. My first class was 3 levels up. Which meant a LOT of stairs.

When I was a little over halfway there, I was already out of breath. Usually I can last a little longer, so this was very weird. Jeez, I must be really tired I thought.
