Hermiones POV
I looked at my alarm clock with groggy eyes and saw it read 8:05. 8:05! I was late for class! Out of all my years I had never been tardy! And to professor snapes class to. How could I be so stupid. I was for sure gonna have to pay the price for this one. I jumped up and threw on my robes, quickly brushed my teeth and hair, grabbed my books and headed off to the dungeons. I finally made it to the door and was about to enter when I hesitated. I am soooo dead. I slowly opened the door and Snape stopped in the middle of a lecture about poly juice potion. The class fell silent as snapes unblinking eyes stared at me. They followed me as I took my seat. I looked back into his eyes and he didn't break eye contact nor did I. I needed to show him I wasn't afraid of him. The room continued to be silent as we held our mini stare down. I may have blushed slightly as I noticed the features of his face and how chiseled it looked. I also took in how smooth his skin looked under the shadows of his dark hair. For a millisecond I could have swore I saw his eyes twinkle and the very corners of his mouth turn up in a sly and quick smile. I blinked in surprise and then as soon as it had come, it vanished. I had also unintentionally lost the stare down. I looked back at him but the warmth was gone. "10 points from Gryffindor because of miss grangers lacking ability to tell time. And miss granger, you will report back here at 8 to serve your detention. Now back to the ingredients of..." I stopped listening. I already knew everything about poly juice potion considering I had made it in my second year. My mind however was stuck on the gaze Snape had given me only moments earlier...
