Chapter 1 - In session!

Sehun was stunned the moment he entered school. Too much noise, too many people, the buildings were too big, the gates were too big, everything was too big, too loud, too much. This was all new to him and definitely not a good way to start his voyage.

Give high school a try, they said. You're gonna love it, they said.

"Kyungsoooo let me copy your math homework, please please pleaseee" Chen whined. "Can you at least like... try doing it on your own for once? Just an idea." Baekhyun replied, still tired from the allnighter he had pulled.

"Hey, math is hard, give me a break!" Chen yelled. "Kyungsooo I'll buy you lunch! Pleaseee" Kyungsoo sighed in defeat and reached inside his bag to pull out his math homework, before sliding it across to Chen. "Thanks, man, I owe you!" 

"You have to buy him lunch now," Baekhyun reminded him. "The only thing you owe him is food." Chen scoffed. "Doesn't make me any less th-"

The teacher abruptly opened the door and stood in front of his desk with another kid in tow. All the chatter in the class died down immediately, and Chen tried shuffling Kyungsoo's homework on his lap slyly.

"Before we begin our lesson, I'd like to introduce a new student," the teacher said. He motioned for the new kid to stand before the chalkboard. He was extremely tall, and his face was permanently sculpted into a scowl. "This is Oh Sehun."

The air was stale and stagnant.

The new kid just stood dumbfounded in front of everybody.

Why is everybody staring at me? Am I doing something wrong?

He was introduced, wasn't he? Now what? What happens next? How does high school work? Suddenly, his ear picked up the chatter from below him, like someone was whispering into his ear. "Isn't he gonna introduce himself?" "Why didn't he bow?" "Where's he from? He's kinda rude..." Again? Ok.

"I'm Oh Sehun..." he mumbled and bowed at an almost 90-degree angle. "Pleasedtomeetyou..." he stood back up.

"Go pick somewhere to sit down," the teacher told him. Before Sehun could even look at the seats, he saw a kid with a stupid smile waving at him wildly. Immediately in front of him was a quiet kid who seemed to be completely spaced out and not paying attention anymore, and immediately in front of the quiet kid was a kid with black circles behind his big glasses who didn't look too excited to be there.

Sehun made his way to the quiet kid and sat next to him, not catching the frown the excited boy behind them had put on. He heard a quiet "Hello..." beside him and he turned to face the quiet kid. "I'm Kyungsoo..." he said and bowed his head a bit. Sehun gave one, stern nod in reply. "I'm Chen," the kid behind them said. "Where are you from, Sehun?" 

What? Oh, damn, what was he told to say...
"S... Seoul," he replied. The kid in front of them, who had turned around, didn't seem amused or convinced. "Ohh, Seoul! Nice, nice..." Chen muttered. "Wanna hang out with us during the break?"

Everyone started taking out the books, and Kyungsoo pushed his book in the middle for both of them to share. "Sure," Sehun replied.

What do I have to lose?
