SHAPE-SHIFTER

Chapter 1

Flashback:

'Knock, knock!'

I opened the door there stood two policewomen. "Are you Stephanie Cross?" asked one of the policewoman, who was now kneeling down. I nod my head. "Is your aunt here?"

I nodded again

"Can you show me to her?"

Quietly, I lead her to my Aunt Matilda. Together the three of them started to whisper, and then Aunt Matilda started to weep and nod her head. At that moment I knew that something had happened to mummy and daddy. My brother seemed to sense it too, because he started to cry in his sleep. This was the worst night of my life; this was the last conscious thought I had before drifting to sleep.

Flashback over....

'Thump!' I fell of the bed again! I think it's becoming a habit, I thought to myself as I went to shower. Once I dried myself I went to the mirror to comb my hair, I was in shock. Staring at me wasn't just a typical 18yrs old teenage girl, it was a girl with green emeralds eyes, and chocolate coloured hair. Hmm...what other transformation have I needed to go through? I thought to myself.

"Honey! Time to go to school!" shouted my aunt.

"Coming!" I shouted back, as I slip on my hood.

I snatched my backpack and flew down the steps. I frowned when I saw we had company. "Sweetie, this is Mr. Hunter. Clive this is my niece, Stephanie." my aunt introduced. Clive and I shook hands, after that I asked her whether she saw Cole. She nodded and pointed to the yard, I strolled towards the place she pointed only to find my 13yrs old brother playing with an extremely hot teenage boy. That wasn't the thing that rooted me to the ground, it was his scent. He smelt like a dog!

"Stephanie, this is Clive's son, Taylor Hunter. Taylor that's my sister Stephanie!" said Cole, breaking through my thoughts.

"Hey there! You must be the girl Cole kept bragging about."

"His been bragging has he? What had he said about me?"

"Umm... nothing, you might want to know," replied Taylor, who was turning into three shades of red under his tanned skin.

I let it drop and try to drag Cole away from Taylor and to school. "Hey! Where you going?"

"To La Push High. We're carpooling with.... You?!"

"Yeah. If you didn't know that car outside is mine," he said grinning.

I grumbled something unintelligent as I dragged Cole towards the car. Suddenly, I heard him sniffed. As I stared at him I found out that I may have accidentally used my spirit on him, when I was grumbling about Taylor.

"Sorry... I didn't mean to."

"Never mind. You know you should let out what's bothering you so that your life could be happier," he said quoting what my aunt said.
