4. Media Day

Kaila POV

My alarm on my phone rings waking me up from my bed. When I check the time it reads 8:25. I hit snooze once and roll back over. Not even a whole minute later Shakira comes banging on my door. "Kaila get yo ugly ass up bitch" she yelled. I get up and open my bedroom door.

Today was media day for UCLA. Shakira, Treasure, and myself are all on the team so we gotta take some pictures, do some interviews and meet the rest of the girls. I grab my clothes and hop in the shower. I turn on my reggae and start my routine.

After I get out the shower I fix my hair and put on a natural face of makeup. I was going to pick treasure up and we were all going to ride together. Once I'm dressed I go check and see what Shakira is doing. "Shy you dressed?" I ask her. "Yeah I'm coming" she replies.

When I walk down the steps my dad still wasn't home. That's not like him. Shakira walks down the stairs ready to go. "Hey have you heard from dad?" I ask her. She replies "nah he prolly at his lil girlfriend house". It caught me off guard. If my dad has a girlfriend then how come I don't know about it.

Shakira, Treasure, and I all walk into the gym and there was so many reporters and camera crews present. Coach Cori walks up to us and greets us all.

Coach Cori: Girlssss!!! How are you? We got a lot of good things here for you. Go ahead and walk into the locker room. Get dressed and ill be in to give you girls the run down.

Once we walk into the locker room all the other girls were there. Most of the girls I had met already except a few.

I walk over to my locker and start to put on my uniform. I look over and Gelos girlfriend Jaden was my locker partner. I didn't even know she was on the team.

Kaila: hey Jaden.

Jaden: sup.

Kaila: everything ok?

Jaden: no everything is not alright.

She closes her locker and walks off. I stand there frozen in shock.

Treasure: hey bitch why you standing here looking like you saw Medusa?

Kaila: Jaden. She just like caught a huge attitude when I spoke to her. Then she just stormed off.

Treasure: she prolly just mad because her and Gelo keep arguing about you.

Kaila: what the hell they arguing about me for.

Treasure: girl she mad because Gelo was texting you when her and Gelo was at dinner.

Kaila: you playing?

Treasure: nope Dre told me.

Coach cori: alright girls. You all look great. Can't wait for the season next month. Today is really just to show you girls off. Take some pictures. A see some questions. Get to know each other better and have fun. So let's go! All the girls follow coach back out to the court.

End of Media Day

After everything was over everyone was in the locker room again changing. This time when I see Jaden I decide to ask her what's up.

Kaila: hey Jaden....does me being around upset you?

Jaden: No. Did Gelo tell you that?

Kaila: no I'm just asking because when I spoke to you earlier you kinda gave me attitude and just stormed off.

Jaden: oh well. Nah. Your good.

Kaila: positive? I mean we're teammates I want everything to be excellent.

Jaden: dude I said your good.

Gelo POV

I pick up Jaden from her UCLA media day. She gets in the car and I can tell she had an attitude. I sit in the parking lot for a little bit.

Gelo: babe. What's wrong?

Jaden: nothing G.

Gelo: you gone lie like that to me. I know when something wrong J.

Jaden: so if you know what's wrong then why don't you fix it.

Gelo: I don't know exactly what's going on but I can tell you acting lil funky. You gone tell me?

Jaden: who did you tell about our argument?

Gelo: nobody.

Jaden: G your fucking lying. Kaila knew about it. So who'd you tell.

Gelo: I talked to Zo and Dre about it.

Jaden: why would you do that?

Gelo: so you don't tell you sisters nothing?

Jaden: it's not about that. My sisters aren't the reason my boyfriend is distant.

Gelo: I haven't been distant. Are won't not together all the time?

Jaden: ok. I'm staying in my dorm tonight. You can go ahead and go home.

Gelo: Jaden get in the car.

She gets out and slams the door walking off. Instead of chasing her, I let her have her space. I start my car and drive off.

Kaila POV

As I'm watching twilight I get a text from Gelo saying to open the door. I walk downstairs and go open the front door. He walks in and I can tell he was a little upset.

Kaila: hey LiAngelo whats up?

Gelo: what you say to Jaden earlier?

Kaila: ok first off, try that again, I think you forgot who you talking to.

Gelo: bro because now she pissed at me.

Kaila: well I have nothing to do with that. I just asked her if she was ok and if me being around made her upset. Not even to make drama but I seriously don't want to be in y'all drama.

Gelo: yo didn't have to do that. Could've just stayed out of it. It messes up my relationship.

Kaila: like I said I wasn't tryna mess up no relationship, but Gelo you can see your way out. I'll talk to you when you don't have an attitude.

Gelo walks back outside, gets in his car, and drives off. I close and lock the door and walk back upstairs.

I get back in the bed and finish playing my movie.
