I didn't know how long we'd been like this but judging by the fading light outside I'd guess it was getting on for an hour. Neither one of us had said anything to each other, both of us just enjoying the others company. We didn't need words to communicate, that was the thing about us, we knew what the other was thinking just by a simple hand gesture or look. It was incredible.
"What are you doing to me Ava?" Harry whispered about half an hour later, breaking the peaceful silence with his raspy voice. He must think I'm asleep. His warm minty breath tickled my neck causing me to bite the inside of my cheek to supress a giggle. He planted a soft kiss just under my ear causing a shiver of pleasure and electricity to rack through me. My body had never reacted this way to anyone before, no one has ever sent currents of electricity shooting around my body, pulsing through my veins from one simple touch. Whether it be a brush of fingers, a hug or a kiss, no one could make me feel the way Harry does. His breathing starts to even out and his heart begins to decelerate back to its normal rythmic pace and it was in that moment, my body sprawled across Harry's chest, my fingers playing with the chocolate brown curls at the back of his neck, our legs intertwined together under the soft white douve and my eyes flitting back and forth between his closed eyes and his slightly swollen lips, that I realised what this feeling was. It scared me yet thrilled me. It made me want to run for my life but also stay stuck in place. It made me want to be reckless yet careful. Three little words that would change both our lives forever. I loved him. And it was in that moment that I was no longer just simply breathing to keep my heart beating but instead I was breathing because this beautiful damaged man below me not only needed me but I needed him because he made me feel alive.
