Chapter 22: Adam's Way In

We were just about at our destination, the giant castle thingy that used to look so far away was now only mere blocks away. At least that's what it looked like to us. In reality it was about a mile away, so on horseback it should only take a little bit, especially if we make the horses gallop.

"Soooo..... Adam..... How you doing?" I asked looking back towards Matt's horse, which currently was holding both him and Adam.

"Given the state we're currently in, I've been better," he replied nonchalantly, not even bothering to take a glance at me. Well there goes my shot at conversation.....

"You never did tell us how you got here," Rachel told him, finally daring to take a glance back, mainly because she was afraid Adam would get really mad because of the whole 'incident'.

Ooooo, how I'd love to watch all that violence go down!

Oh, I almost forgot about you. Great.

Now how can you forget someone as special as me? I'm practically screaming awesome!

Hey, you, shut up!

You always ruin the fun....

Well, if I don't then we'd all be dead right now.

Oh, I almost forgot. Only two hours until your dear old Keld's execution; it's so painful it could almost be called torture!

Can you just not bring that up? We're going to get there, just wait and see!

Fine, whatever you say miss 'downer', I'll just be getting all the preparations ready..... for the fun to begin....

I scoffed at this comment. If anyone was the downer it was one of our friends back home!

"Well, it started when all of us were recording. We were playing on a giant hunger games server, I being how awesome I am at the game, had died a couple minutes in," he started. From what I could hear in his voice, he really was fond of this memory.

Or he's trying to remember everything with the pain in his leg.

That too.

"About another twenty minutes passed, and that's when things started getting weird." His face scrunched up as he tried recalling the memory.

"First it started with the call going out, then I was recalled by someone who seemed to have the same name as Jerome, and I didn't expect that by answering the call I would get sucked into my computer. Now we're all here, seeming to all have the same story, except for Jerome who got called by Mitch," he finished looking back at Rachel.

"Well, that was definitely a better story then ours!" I tried again at conversation. No one seemed to respond. Well I'm just no good with people today am I?

Nope! It's not just today either, it's everyday of your life!

Please just shut up already!

Well, that's a little harsh on your part, but because you said please I'll keep quiet for a little bit!

"You guys never told me how you all got here either," Adam told us, looking to each one of us for an answer.

"Alright, who wants to explain?" Rachel asked the three of us.

"Fishy? Do you wanna do it?" I asked Matt, using the nickname he hated.

"Do I have to?"

"Yes," both Rachel and I responded to his question.

"Ugh, fine!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air, but immediately put them back on the reins as he almost fell off.

I listened as he retold his side of the story, moving into our side when he finished. Adam listened with all his attention, which I don't know why he would want to.

We aren't very exciting.

"And that's it really. I mean, I know I don't remember anything before that. Strange actually..," Matt finished, looking away deep in thought, probably to try and recall what happened before we all played Minecraft with each other. Adam just nodded, not wanting to push any further into our lives.

I hadn't even realized how close we were to the castle-mere bob until the horses stopped suddenly. Looking up to the sky, I noticed the moon was about a quarter of the way up before it reached midnight.

Lets just get in, grab Keld, and get out before any of us get hurt.
