I wake up, it is a new day, a new story. I almost wish it lead to a new life. Life in Calipatria is hard, there is little food, and a war is about to start. I am 16, this is the age in which you start training. Tomorrow is my first day...... I am scared.....I am nervous. My mom told me it will be alright, I think she is just saying that to make me feel better, of course she is just trying to make me feel better. Nothing, not one thing, is "alright" in Calipatria.
During training our leaders will find out who will be sent to war. 90%of the kids in training are sent to war, it would be a miracle if I was not sent. The training is a 3 month initiation . People predict that the war will start in around 9 months.
People have dreamed of getting out of this town before the war starts, but as I said , all they can do is dream....... I wish dreams came true.
There is a gate around the city, but I noticed that the big lock is on the out side of the city. I think they are more afraid of us getting out, then people getting in.
When I was a kid I thought our leaders loved us, cared for us, tried to make our town a better place.
LIES!!!!!!
Lies, everything was a lie. They would hoard all the food, and keep it to themselves. They tried to keep us from seeing all the luxury that everyone else had, so we would not think we were being cheated.
So I plan on running away.
