POV LAILA
I am a shy girl, I do not have too many friends, I only have my best friend and my scuad. I have dark hair with fairly long hair, with normal height, and a body, at leats I think so. At school I'm not very popular, but I'm not a nerd either, I'm just there, being one of the bunch. I practice hockey, a sport not highly acclaimed around here, although I love it, especially when I don't have the pressure of having to be the best, nor that there are many people watching me.
I live in a small town, with peculiar people. We are separated from almost everything, not too many people know about the existence of this town since well... there is a school for children with certain distinctions. We are divided according to our gift. Sorcerer heirs have a drop of water behind their ear, fairy heirs have a flower on their arm, elf heirs have a shamrock on their ankle, and nymph heirs have a tree on their side.
I'm already weird enough because I have all of them, although only my best friend Kelly knows that. It is not normal to be heir from all of them, it means having a lot of power, more than i should have.Apart from that rarity, I also have a curse, I cannot fall in love with anyone, only with the person who first says the phrase that comes out on my wrist when I turn 16. I have tried to have a boyfriend before, but I am unable to fall in love, there was always something that wouldn't let me. A greater force than me.
Today was a day like any other, if it were not because there were only a few hours left for it to happen, I was going to be 16 years old, and although I did not know it at the time, that day was going to change my life forever. I stayed up until 12, I was wanting to see what phrase came out. When it was about time, I locked myself in my room, and I couldn't believe that that was my phrase. "be careful girl" is what appeared, that was the first thing my soul mate was going to tell me. Who says that to someone without knowing her? And why would he tell me that? With those questions in my head I fell asleep, wondering if I would ever find my soul mate ...
POV ALEX
My family and I do not usually stay long in a city, when they find out that we are not like the others, we have to leave. In my family there is a curse, when you turn 16 the first phrase that your soul mate will tell you appears on your wrist, and until you find it you cannot be with anyone, you can only be with that person. This is because I live in a somewhat peculiar family, my lineage is said to come from the union of a fairy and a sorcerer. So in every two generations one is born who inherits all the power. And in this it is my turn to have it.
As now we are moving again, my mother has found a school where there are more people like me, and we are going to see if I can fit in there.i am a tall, athletic boy, obviously handsome and with dark hair. All the girls always go crazy for me. I don't play any sport like football or lacrosse, I play hockey is more fun because you don't have all that pressure to be the best or you will be nobody, in hockey you can be you.
I have never had many friends, they all turn away from me when they find out what I really am, they do not give me a chance to show them that I am still me.Tomorrow is my 16th birthday, I'm going to know what my soul mate is going to tell me, I'm a little nervous. I have always been a playboy who has played with the girls and I liked it, I had a good time, but I cannot continue being that way or I will lose the love of my life.
It's almost 12 o'clock, as soon as I look at my wrist, a phase begins to appear on my wrist "I-I'm-I'm sorry", I don't understand, that can't be the first thing she says to me, anyone can tell me that, How am I going to know who she is ...
