Not romantic, just vent writing from a while back. In this oneshot, the reader is one of Aizawa's students. Also not gonna lie, Aizawa is pretty out of character.
Trigger Warning: suicide attempt. This is heavy and angsty. Please proceed with caution and stay safe. I almost feel like I shouldn't be posting this, but I know that it may comfort someone like it did for me back when I wrote it.

It was a night like any other. Eraserhead was on patrol, as usual, and not much was happening other than the occasional petty criminal. His shift was almost over, so he emerged from the shadows and began walking the streets normally, the lampposts illuminating the area. He took this time to think, in this case the topic of his thoughts was his coworkers and students.
The black-clad hero studied his surroundings for a moment before gazing up at the sky. It didn't take long for him to notice a figure on top of the tallest nearby building.
He stealthily creeped across the surrounding rooftops before finally making his way to the tallest one, worried it was a villain. He was making a conscious effort to be as quiet as possible, so it was no surprise that the figure, which seemed to be a teenager, was unaware of his presence.
Then it hit him. The way they stood on the other side of the barrier with; their arms wrapped around the railing behind them.
Suicide.
He'd obviously been trained for these situations, but he continued to gaze in shock for a moment.
"This is it, I guess," they muttered. He recognized that voice. From where, he couldn't tell.
"Kid, step away from the edge." They gasped, not knowing they were being watched. They continued to hold on to the railing in fear as they turned to see the speaker.
"M-Mr. Aizawa?"
Now it was his turn to gasp. "Y/n?"
"Oh... um, hi, Sensei." Their voice was low and quiet.
"Hey, what are you doing up here?" His voice didn't show it, but he was scared to lose one of his students. "Come back to this side of the railing... come on, Y/n, this isn't worth it. Let's get you home and-" he was cut off.
"No! I don't want to go back there... maybe it is worth it." Tears started to fall. "My parents don't care about anything except an image. My only purpose is their bragging rights. My grades are dropping, I can never be a hero with my useless quirk, I'm so socially awkward I can't even make friends, I try so hard to be happy like everyone else, but I just can't!... I can't continue like this... Mr. Aizawa, I'm going to jump. I've been planning this for months now, you're not getting in my way now."
"Yes, I am. We can fix those things! We'll find you a safe family, we can get you a tutor, you can see the school guidance counselor, you can't do this. You're going to make an amazing hero! I've seen you in class. You're going to climb to this side of the railing and come down from here with me... please. Please, Y/n, listen to me." The pro hero was becoming desperate.
"No... no, I don't want to live! I'm tired of being thrown between a tool and a burden. I want to be free! I'm going to break free-"
"You can be free without taking away your life! Just... come here."
If Y/n was being honest, they didn't think they really were ready to die. All the stalling was only making them question this decision more. Slowly, as if unsure, they lifted one leg after another until they were back on the correct side of the railing.
They fell to the ground, curling up into a messy, sniffly ball of tears. Aizawa rushed to their side to comfort them. They were only a child, after all.
After he was finally able to calm them down, the hero suggested they come with him for the night.
"Come on, I'm not letting you return to your parents. You can go back another time to grab your belongings, but you won't be staying there anymore. Until we can figure everything out, you can stay with me. As much as I'd hate to have one of my own students sleep on my couch, it's not like there's much we can do at this time. What do you say?" They responded in a tight hug and a thank you, to Aizawa's discomfort.
Y/n stood a few feet behind their teacher as he turned the key to his home, warning them of both the cat and a certain significant other that would probably want attention. They didn't question it, only doing what they were told.
"I'll be right back. There's the kitchen, living room, and bathroom. That's where you're allowed, and that's where you can sleep. I'll be back with a blanket, you can just... I don't know, go to bed." Neither said a word as the somewhat calm grump of a pro hero walked down the hallway to what Y/n presumed was his own room.
The cat Aizawa had mentioned before surely did want attention, so Y/n stroked its smooth fur as they waited. The soft creature only stayed for a moment, however, before a yell scared it into hiding.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU BROUGHT HOME A KID?" loud footsteps echoed through the hallway until a frantic Present Mic burst in. "Omg, it's a student. Sho, we're going to be in so much trouble!" Aizawa yanked the loud man and whisper-yelled something into his face. He gasped and ran to Y/n, giving them a tight hug.
"Oh, little Listener, it's going to be okay! I promise!" Y/n could see Aizawa in the background with his arms crossed, smacking his forehead.
"'Zashi, get off of them. Here, kid, here's a blanket. Tomorrow we can take you to school early and we can talk to Nezu and the guidance counselor. We're going to get you help, okay?"
They nodded, although it was difficult to get much sleep that night.
