The next morning, Rin and I decided it would be best to go bathe.

After we finished, we got dressed and headed back to our hut. As we were walking into our home, I noticed Rin stop in the doorway. As I got closer I knew why. An older man I had never seen in the village before was scarfing down our food.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" I demanded, glaring at the man, pushing Rin behind me.

"I..." The man started, but was cut off by the sound of barking, howling, and growling.

"Oh no, they've caught up with me," the man said as he shoved past me.

"Wait, what's coming?" I asked, but the man was already gone.

A whirlwind of leaves suddenly sped past me. 'What was that?' I thought. I then looked at the near by river to see the man from before was now in the river, and the whirlwind was actually a tan man with sky blue eyes. He was saying something to the man. Then all of a sudden, a breif scream sounded through the air. The tan man had just killed the man in the river, and was telling his wolves something. The wolves suddenly started attacking the villagers.

"Rin we need to go!" I said, but didn't get a responce. "Rin, NOW!" I yelled. She then snapped out of it, and we ran deep into the woods.

'It seems luck is not on our side today,' I thought as I looked back to see two wolves chasing us.

"Rin, keep running, and don't stop," I said as I pull out my dagger.

"But what about you?" Rin asks.

"I'm going to stay here and fend off the wolves," I said.

   "But..." Rin tried to say.

"NO TIME FOR ARGUING. GO NOW!" I yelled as I kick a wolf in the stomach that tried to jump me. I was so concentrated on stopping this wolf that I failed to notice the second wolf had ran past me long ago.

*pant* *pant* *pant* I was breathing hard as I finally managed to knock the wolf out.

It was dead silent, except the growling in the distance.

Wait, it's coming from the direction Rin ran. 'Oh no,' I thought as I start running again. "RIN. RIN!" I yell, growing more worried by the second.

A little while later I finally come to a stop, seeing more than one wolf had attacked Rin. 'Oh no,' I thought, tears clouding my vision, hand over my mouth. I ran again, trying my hardest to get away. My pace started to slow as I finally collapsed from exhaustion. "No..." I said, my voice now a whisper, tears now falling.

The wolves growled as they neared me, then everything went black.

Oh no, could this be the end of the story? No, there's more to come.
