"Are you ready?" Antonio asked. "yes" I said and fixed my black Falling In Reverse cut off tee.
After three months of therapy I was going back to school.
"Welcome to Cambridge high I am Kendrick Montreal, Dean of Cambridge High" a tall man with a black mustache and grey hair said and shook our hands. "Alexandria Marquez" I said and shook his hand. "Antonio Dawson" Antonio said and shook his hand. "here is your schedule, and welcome to Cambridge high" Mr. Montreal said and I took the schedule from his hands. "I'll see you after school, have a great day" Antonio said and gave me a hug. "anybody gives you a hard time you tell me so I can kick their ass" Antonio said. "I will" I said and walked down the hall.
"AP Lang" I said as I read my schedule. I walked up the flight of stairs but stopped at the bathroom.
I stopped in front of the mirror and looked over my outfit.
I was wearing a baggy cut off tee with a pair of black skinny jeans and black doc martens. my hair was wavy and I was wearing mascara and eyeliner. I fixed the bracelets on my wrists and walked out.
I slowly opened the wooden door and slipped inside. "I want you to read the following passages and find the literary elements that the author uses to convey the theme of loss of innocence in a modern world" the teacher said. She was tall with curly brown hair to her shoulder.
"I'm Alexandria Marquez" I said and shook her hand. "Hope Valdemar" she said and shook my hand,"well everyone has a partner so you can sit in the back behind Cam and Willow" Ms. Valdemar. I fixed the strap on my backpack and walked towards the back. "ohmygod look at her boots" I heard a girl whisper to her friend. "is she like emo?" I heard another one say. "punk" I corrected her and continued walking.
I took a seat behind a guy with buzz cut blonde hair and a girl with long brown hair. I saw as she took one glance at me and then turn around and whisper something to him. I brushed it off and started copying the notes.
After class I took out my schedule and started heading towards my next class.
"Gym" I said and let out a groan as I opened the heavy wooden door to the gym.
"Alexandria Marquez" I said and handed the gym teacher the paper from the office that excused me from participating that day.
"My name is Coach Wilson, Here are the rules, read them, learn them. I don't want cut off tees in my gym, no booty shorts and no storm trooper boots" he said and looked at my boots. "you want an 'A' you work for that 'A'" he said,"sit on the bleachers for today" he said and I walked off to the top of the bleachers.
Luka:hey, we haven't talked in a long time.
Me:yeah, sorry I've had a few things to take care of.
Luka:tell me
Me:not through text message
Luka:okay, hey thanksgiving in a few days, want me to come over?
Me:yes please
Luka:alright I'll see you in a few days.
Me:okay, let me know when your arriving.
Luka:I gotta go I'll text you later.
Me:okay, bye
Luka:bye
I placed my phone in my pocket and looked up and saw the same guy from English looking at me. I continued to stare him down until he quickly looked away. "That's what I thought" I said and placed my feet on the bleachers below me. "never again will a man take advantage of me" I said to myself.
After the bell rang I walked down the bleachers and out the door.
My next classes were history, French, and Math.
After math I walked into the lunch room and took a seat next to the window in the back.
I plugged in my headphones and started blasting Brand New while I drew on on my notebook.
Halfway through the song Jesus Christ I got a feeling that somebody was looking at me. I took out an earbud and looked up. Coincidently the guy and his friends were sitting in the table across from me. I saw them all looking at me. "what? Can I help you?" I asked and they all turned around like nothing happened. I rolled my eyes and went back to drawing.
