"How was your first day?" Antonio asked. "it was okay" I said and we walked into the car. "hey um so thanksgiving is coming up and I wanted to know if my friend could come over for break?" I asked. "who is it?" Antonio asked. "Luka" I said. "Luka?" Antonio asked. "yes" I said. "he's a guy right?" Antonio asked. "yes, but I know what your thinking and no, he's been my best friend since we were freshmens and we've been inseparable since" I said. "alright" Antonio said. "thank you" I said.

//3 days later//

Today Luka was coming from San Diego and I was actually nervous to see him.

I got up and took a shower I changed into a black crewneck that had the word 'stay creepy' in melting letters. I slipped on a pair of ripped black skinny jeans with a pair of black vans. I straightened my hair and added a black beanie that covered my forehead and ears. I swung my bag over my shoulder and walked out. "your friend is arriving today right?" Antonio asked. "yes" I said,"he's going to arrive at the bus station at three so im going to pick him up and then we're coming here" I informed him. "alright" Antonio said as I walked out.

Once I arrived at school I walked around the block until the bell rang.

I walked into English and took a seat behind Cam, Willow was out with a fractured neck due to a fall she had in gymnastics. "Alright class today you'll be working in a group of two to define the juxtaposition between the passages you were reading last week" Ms. Valdemar said. "looks like we're working together" Cam said and moved to sit next to me. "yeah" I said and pulled out my packet. "I can't believe we have to do this" cam said out of the blue. "I know right" I said. "where'd you move from?" Cam asked. "Pattison high" I said. "that's the worst school in town" Cam said. "Have you been there?" I asked. "no" Cam said. "then don't talk shit about it unless you've been there" I said and looked him in the eyes. "yeah s-sorry" Cam said.

As soon as the last bell rang I made a mad dash for the door.

I took a bus to the inner city and walked out into the busy street.

I walked a couple blocks until I arrived at the bus station.

As soon as three o'clock hit I saw Luka walk out of the bus terminal. "Luka!" I shouted as I spotted him. "Alexa!" Luka shouted and I ran towards him. "I missed you so much" I said as he picked me up. "me too" Luka grinned and spun me around. "I'm so glad your here" I said as he placed me on the ground. "Sabrina couldn't make it since she has to go to Mexico for thanksgiving" Luka said. "yeah she had told me a while back" I said. "so this is the Windy City?" Luka asked and looked around. "yes" I said. "so where are we going?" Luka asked. "just follow me" I said. "follow the yellow brick road" Luka said. "yes" I said as we linked arms and walked down the street.

"This is my humble apartment" I said as we stood outside my apartment. "wow went from living in a victorian style house in San Diego to a small apartment in Chicago" Luka said. "I make the best of it" I said as we walked inside.

"Alexa" Markus asked as we walked inside. "hey" I said. "who's this?" Markus asked. "Luka" Luka said and stretched out his hand. "I'll see you around" Markus said and walked off.

"Who was that?" Luka asked once we walked into the apartment. "a friend" I said. "a friend?" Luka asked. "yes" I said and looked around. "okay so Antonio is gone" I said. "Antonio your uncle?" Luka asked. "yes" I said. "Want something to eat?" I asked. "Yes please" Luka said. "pizza?" I asked. "yes" Luka said and I picked up the phone and ordered some pizza.

"Hey let's party a little meanwhile the pizza gets here" I said and I turned up the stereo and started blasting The 1975.

We were both dancing along to the song 'the city' when the doorbell rang. I grabbed the money and walked to the door. I gave the pizza guy the money and he handed me my pizza.
