Logan awoke in a bed, hearing the sweet sound of music playing. Looking up, he saw a hologram globe playing a song that filtered through the room. Getting up, he went through the halls. He was in the Xavier Mansion, or the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. It was a beautiful sight. Students filtered through each and every room. As he walked through, he saw Bobby Drake with his girlfriend, Rogue and Kitty teaching a class with Colossus. Hank, in his older Beast form, walked past him.

'Morning, Logan. Late start.' He laughed. Just then a woman who he just recognised caught his eye. She sidled up to him. That she was me.

'Logan, are you alright?' I asked gently.

'Yeah... I...'

'Hey, just... easy. I was a little unsteady when I woke up. It's okay.'

'You're... you're...'

'The Professor's wife, yes. Come. I'll take you to him. He does want to see you. How perfect, timing is.' I looped Logan's arm in mine and we walked through the halls to Charles' office together. Logan looked at the dress I was wearing. It was a lovely white dress with blue forget-me-not flowers embroidered all over the dress. Charles had told me it brought out the colour in my deep-blue eyes that so resembled my father's. As we walked further, we noticed Storm talking to a student.

'Have a good lunch. Good job,' she said.

'Thank you,' the student replied, hurrying off to lunch. A young girl ran up to me. I stopped and knelt down to face the girl.

'When will you read to us, Ms. Xavier?'

'Soon, child, soon.' I touched her cheek affectionately, then stood and continued walking with Logan. Then, we came to the office and I stepped inside. 'Hey, Jean,' I said, touching her on the arm. She smiled warmly at me as I came up to my husband and kissed him on the cheek, then hugged my twins and then Charlene. I turned.

'Jean,' Logan spoke.

'Hi, Logan.'

'Jean,' he repeated.

'Are you okay?' she said, asking the same thing that I had asked of him earlier.

'You're here.'

'Where else would I be?' He went to touch her face, as if to convince himself that his unrequited love was well and truly alive, when suddenly Scott stopped him.

'Woah! Easy, pal,' he spoke, brushing Logan's hand away from Jean's face protectively.

'Well, some things never change. Good to see you, Scott.'

'Uh-huh. See you later, Jean. Okay.' He walked past Jean and Logan.

'Logan, is everything alright?' she repeated.

'Yeah. Yeah, I think it is.'

'Come in, Logan,' I called merrily. I was there, in the chair in front of Charles' desk, smiling at him. My three children were around us, all smiling and happy. The five of us... so happy.

'You did it,' Logan said.

'Did what?' the Professor replied.

'Logan, don't you have a class to teach?' I asked.

'A class to teach?'

'Yeah, history,' Charles replied.

'History. Actually, I could use some help with that.'

'With what?' Charles asked.

'Well, pretty much everything after 1973.' Charles and I looked at each other. 'I think the history I know is a little different.' I took a quick peek in his mind.

'Welcome back, Logan,' I said softly. 'If you'll excuse me, Charles, I have a psychology class to teach and a reading class after lunch.' I kissed him on the cheek and left the room, touching Logan on the shoulder. I tapped his shoulder gently. 'Really, it's good to have you back.' I left the office with Charlene, Edith and our son Charlie. Logan and Charles were left alone.

'It's good to see you, Charles. It's good to see everyone.'

'Well... I had a promise to keep. You and I have a lot of catching up to do.'

'Yeah.'

'What's the last thing you remember?'

'Drowning.'

The past, a new and uncertain world.

A world of endless possibilities and infinite outcomes.

Countless choices define our fate. Each choice, each moment, a ripple in time.

Enough ripples and you change the tide.

For the future is never truly set.
