I zipped up the rest of my coat and took a step into the cold winter air. The snow crunched under my feet as I walked, my shoe prints trailing behind.I pushed my earphones into my ears and turned the volume louder. Music was always an option when walking to school alone. I kicked at a snowbank, the snow falling onto the sidewalk in front of me, making me roll my eyes.
I didn't like snow, it was heavy, hard to walk in, annoying and cold. The only good thing about it was snow days, and it was on a rare day that those occurred, so snow was pointless to me.
I took a left, looking ahead of me to see the snow covered sign that is supposed to say 'Nelson Street' but only shows 'Son Street', one of my least favourite streets.
I continued down the street, groaning slightly to myself when my school came into sight.
I cut through the parking lot, saving me some time and energy to get to the front doors. I was blasted with warm air as I walked through the giant double doors, and smiled contently.
I stomped my feet, the snow falling off of my boots and onto the large black mat before making my way down the hall and to my locker. I glanced at the hallway clock that read '8:37'.
A while until classes start. I put in my three digit locker combination, opening it up and stuffing my coat, hat, boots and mitts it it, and then grabbing my books and my toms and shutting it back up .
I slipped on my toms, and threw my books in my bag before walking back to the front foyer to find Cassie, my best friend. I walked down the steps, turning my music off and taking my headphones out.
I spotted her just walking through the door and smiled slightly. "Hey." I said, walking towards her.
"Hey Clark, isn't the snow pretty? I'm so happy it's finally here!" She gushed, walking towards her locker.
"No, I hate snow, you know that." I huffed, leaning on the locker beside hers and glaring ahead of me.
"Suck it up buttercup and get in the holiday spirit." She muttered, bumping my shoulder lightly.
I ignored her, getting off of the locker and heading for the stairs for my next class.
"Shopping tonight?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows.
I shook my head "Gotta work." I muttered.
"I don't understand why you have to work, I mean your parents are rich?" She mumbled.
"Well I'm supposed to pay for my car to get fixed, and I want to do it, for me. Work for something for a change." I muttered.
"Well I think that's stupid." She smiled at me, opening the door to our class and walking in, I followed behind her, sitting in my seat at the back of the class.
"When is PE?" Cassie asked, taking out her phone.
I did the same, "Last period." I muttered before clicking on Twitter.
I scrolled through my feed, favouriting random things. 'Go like my Instagram picture' Cassie's text popped up and I rolled my eyes.
"We're literally sitting right beside each other dude." I clicked on Instagram, going onto her page and liking her picture, even though it was of snow, and snow wasn't that great of a thing.
I clicked the lock button on my phone when I heard the bell ring and saw the numerous kids plow through.
I smiled at the few people that greeted me, and waited quietly for the teacher to come in.
