The alarm went off as usual at 7 am.

The boring repeating bussing that drives me mad, only because I know that when it goes off I know that only means one thing, hours of work.

I moaned and pulled the covers back off me.

Instantly regretting it, the minute I felt the coldness outside my own bed, but I knew I had to go to work.

I climbed out of the bed and walked into the kitchen.

I opened the patio door that I had with this small horrible apartment but its the only thing I can afford but the cold fresh air hit me and woke me up even more, then hearing all the cars and people rushing around new York trying to get to their jobs, and starting their busy morning just made me want to get back into bed even more.

I put on the kettle for my morning coffee and put on some toast and realizing that I have nothing else for breakfast and need to go shopping, I could hear my father's voice in my head yelling at me that I need to look after myself better and I started daydreaming back to a time where I lived back at home but the cars beeping outside brought me out of my daydreaming , the toast popped up and it was burnt and I had a couple of bites and threw the rest away.

I jumped into the shower at first it was nice the warm water on my body but then I ran out of hot water and the cold water felt like ice cubes hitting on my skin and slicing me open.

I got out and dressed into my uniform.

The horrible blue trousers and blue shirt.
I grabbed my coat and bag and I was out the door.

Then walked 25 minutes to my job in the library.

The walk felt longer then normal but I didn't mind I liked working in the library and the customers that came it where always quiet and never stayed long.

My only problem or thing that I hated was the boss. Mrs Rose.

She was very old and cranky and never like to be helped, I knew she had no children of her own and her husband died years ago.

As I was walking Phoebe ran up to me.

She was a girl I knew from this town, the first friend I met here, she grew up here with her grandmother and as she always says she took me in and showed me the way of the town, her town as she liked to call it and I've been to a lot of party's and shopping trips and Phoebe liked to have fun and dragged me along with her.

I got to the door and slid my key into the old rusty door nob and twisted the key.

I've been telling Mrs Rose for a while to get a new lock but she won't listen to me.

I stepped in and instantly heard a old crockery lady in the back of the shop yell " you're late again "

As per normal said nothing I knew I wasn't late but nothing is ever to her standard and I don't want to fight with her because i need this job.

I opened to door and put on the "we're open" sign up.

Her heeled shoes clicked on the old creaky floor.

She instantly gave me her instruction like she does every morning and I started piling up the books from the desk and placing them back on the shelves while dealing with a few stray customers that came in but disappear as quick as anything.

While Mrs Rose was upstairs as normal getting ready to go out and deliver her important messages, like she does every morning for 2 hours.

I was glad she did that, I didn't have to deal with her for 2 hours so I was happy every day for those 2 hours while she was gone.

I was at the front desk filling out some paper work and I could hear her coming down the stairs.

The same black outfit she wears every day and same white pearl necklace with matching earring That her husband got her on the wedding anniversary.

She grabbed her coat and gloves and walked over to me.

"Don't forget there a delivery at 3 o' clock" I just nodded and then continued on with the paperwork

The days go so slowly here especially when I work nearly 9 hours daily with no one to talk to and most customers don't stay but when they're older people and repeat the same thing every time to me it does get boring.

Mrs Rose walked back and threw paper back on the desk and told me to fill then out and them put them away.

More paperwork about locations, delivery's and orders.

Just as she was walking upstairs some new people walked in and they were younger, they hadn't been in here before, one looked like he was in his early 30 and the other one was young around my age, but they were loud so Mrs Rose, of course turned around and gave out to them and told them to be silent.

Then she shut the door and creaked up every 15 steps that were there.

The younger one made funny action mocking her which made me chuckle and getting his attention while the other one dragged him off hitting him over the head.

I felt my face turn red and my stomach twist with shock as his eyes gazed on mine.
