10: history of the river

TAEHYUNG:

I'm not the weird one here! (Y/n) is!

I can't believe she doesn't know that wolves actually exist, and they're definitely not the horror movie werewolves that people are scared of.

(Y/n) is one of the strangest girls I've ever met. She's one of us- but it's like she doesn't even act like it, or have any knowledge about our kind.

Yet alone her past- that's a mystery I'm dying to find out. 

Maybe she's just ignorant, hates our species or maybe her mind must've been wiped?

I am concerned about (Y/n), because the longer she stays clueless the harder it will be for everything will make sense to her.

And I certainly won't be teaching her the basics about our species. 

And with the full moon coming up, (Y/n) will be in for a big shock. It's not like we can hold back who we really are. 

Only time will tell...

(Y/N):

After a good while of trudging through the vast and never-ending forest, we'd finally made it to Moonrise River, which sat in the centre of it.

It was beautiful, something like out of a fantasy movie- A large circular river gently rippled against the gentle breeze of the wind, and the bright blue sky reflected against its waters.

Earthy, maroon and soft soil lay underneath us and surrounded the river, with pine leaves scattered around and buried within the soil.

Towering pine trees surrounded us and the river, acting as guards to protect whatever secret or mystery this place held.

A calm and peaceful aura surrounded me, washing away any of my confusion, doubts and concerts from earlier.

However, I felt a pair of eyes on me for a good while, causing me to turn around and lock eyes with Taehyung.

Uhm... okay?

"Is everything good?" I awkwardly mumbled, causing him to break his gaze.

"What do you think happens on the full moon?" He asked.

"Er... people do whatever they usually do, eat, sleep and go to work at night if they have to?" I answered.

What a random question!

"I wasn't talking about people" He deadpanned.

"Then what were you-"

"Enjoying the sight?" Yoongi's voice came from beside me, causing me to turn to him.

Thank goodness, things were starting to get really awkward. What is Taehyung's problem with me?

"It's unlike anything I've ever seen. I used to read about rivers and forests in story books growing up. But those books certainly don't do places like this justice" I breathed, appreciating the sight. 

Yoongi chuckled, causing me to raise my eyebrows at him. "Sweet. The more you come here, the more everything will start to make sense"

A serene expression lay on the man's face as he crossed his arms and took in the scenery.

"How did you even get used to seeing something like this?" I mumbled.

"Because I've seen everything, that's why. When you've had a life like mine, all you'll want is peace, and this is all I could ask for"

I pursed my lips and turned back to the river. Makes sense.

"Let me tell you something (Y/n)" Yoongi began lowly, "Legend has it that this river is special, and supposedly has healing properties for those of special blood- the ones with the blood of the wolves"

"Special blood?" I questioned.

Oh no, not with this wolf crap again. But since it's coming from Yoongi, I'll try to take his word for it.

Yoongi continued, "Rumour has it that on the full moon, those who are lost can find their true selves if they come here"

"Sounds like something out of a fairytale" I chuckled, causing him to smile.

"Each to your own" 

"Do you actually believe this?" 

"Heh, well, I've never felt a need to come here for answers, so I wouldn't be able to answer that"

"Interesting..." 

So this river can help someone find their true self? I don't believe in fairytales anymore, but would this even mean anything to me?

Would it help me piece my life back together- and help me remember the past?

As if, my life isn't some fantasy story.

"That's a sweet tale Yoongi, but werewolves don't exist" I giggled.

"Say what you want (Y/n)" He chuckled, "But not in the form you think"

I playfully rolled my eyes at his comment. I won't question it!

"Are you guys going to stay over there like dummies or what?" Jungkook called us over from the river, as he played with Jimin and Taehyung.

"He's right (Y/n)" Yoongi pat my head, "Let's not spend the rest of our day debating over the existence of wolves and actually have some fun!"
