Christmas

It's been almost a month since the attack on New Italy. We had used the drills to make a tunnel system to the cities. It took about three weeks since but it was done quick thanks to the other kingdoms help.
Charles had been working on helicopters and planes for ways to travel. Jack and Maxwell had been helping him along with about twenty other workers and they seemed to have it almost finished. Today I was going to New Italy with Ashley. We were gonna travel by black hole but when I was gonna open it my phone Matthew gave me started ringing. I looked to see who it was and saw it was Charles. I answered the call.
"Hey man what's up?" I said. "Ashley and I were just about to travel by black hole to New Italy."
"Don't bother. Go outside the gates." He said. "I got something to show you."
"Ok." I said. "Ashley looks like we'll be getting there later. Charles wants us at the gates."
"As long as we still get Christmas shopping done." She said. You could tell she was getting colder as the months went on. She was in a winter jacket, had on boots and a nice sweater.
"We will. You cold?" I asked.
"No. I'd think you would be cold though." She said.
I was in a red v-neck with short sleeves, jeans and Vans. I had my medallion, wrist crossbow and pistol on as well. I had a black track jacket hanging up by the door just in case. "Nah I'm good." I said.
"Caleb put on a jacket." She said.
"Ok mom." I said in a sarcastic voice as I put on my jacket.
"Shut up or you won't be getting anything for Christmas." She said.
"Oh you know you wouldn't do that." I said. I gave her a kiss and wrapped her in my arms. "You love me to much."
"Ok your right." She said. "Let's just go."
We went to the gates. We were waiting for a couple minutes before I heard something I hadn't heard in a long time. Helicopter blades. I looked up and saw a helicopter landing down.
The helicopter landed and Charles walked out. "As you can see we got a early Christmas present." He said. "Your gonna be the first two to go in it besides me."
"Charles you've outdone yourself." I said. I looked at Ashley. "You ready?"
"This isn't gonna malfunction and crash is it?" She asked. "Cause if we die Caleb I will make sure you never hear the end of it in the afterlife."
"Have some faith Ashley." Charles said. "It's fully operational. Let's go."
"Ok fine." She said. I helped her into the helicopter and than sat down.
"This is your captain speaking and we will be taking off now." Charles said.
"Hey only captain here is me." I said. "Remember they called me Captain Boomer?"
"Oh shut up." He said. "Next stop New Italy." Then we were off.
We were at New Italy in a hour. That helicopter really made good time. Charles landed it down at the gates and we got out. He took off again and I assumed he was going to get the others.
I took Ashley's arm in mine and we went to go find Augustus and his girlfriend Alesa. We found them at the castle just coming to look for us.
"Hey guys." I said. "Ashley this is Augustus and Alesa. Guys this beautiful girl is my girlfriend Ashley."
"Nice to meet you." Augustus said.
"Hey Ashley. Nice jacket." Alesa said.
"Nice to meet both of you." Ashley said.
"Awesome." Augustus  said. "Caleb you got that thing I asked for?"
"Let me see.." I said. I had the shadows bring it to me. A gold colored box. "Merry Christmas Augustus."
"Yes!" He said. He opened the box. "Caleb this is beautiful." He pulled out the new pistol I made for him.
"Thought you'd like it." I said. "My dad used to be a gunsmith and I learned stuff from him. That and I like weapons and warfare anyways."
"Warfare?" He said.
"I was gonna join the army after high school. Green Berets." I said. "I knew fighting styles and weapons from ancient and modern warriors."
"Very impressive Caleb." He said while making a salute.
"Don't you salute me." I said. "Salute your commanding officer. We're both the leaders."
"Ugh Caleb can we just get to shopping now?" Ashley said.
"Someone's a little impatient." I said. "Ok you guys ready?"
"Yeah let's go." Augustus said laughing.
Alesa and Ashley stated up front while Augustus and I stayed behind. They kept talking and leading us through the mall. They needed to get our presents and we needed to get theirs so we split up.
"Ok any idea what Alesa wants?" I said.
"I have a silver necklace with pearls in it waiting to be picked up." He said.
"Wow fancy." I said.
"Any idea what Ashley wants?" He said.
"Besides the whole mall?" I said laughing. "I'm got something waiting back at my city's mall."
"Isn't Christmas tomorrow? Shouldn't you get that like now?"
"Give me about five minutes." I said.
"Black hole?" He said.
"Nah just gonna shadow travel. The black hole is too dangerous. That and I had to alter it not to destroy us." I said. "Black holes are to destroy not to travel. I just altered it to see if it work better for travel. And it doesn't."
"Oh... That's umm fun?" He said.
"Be back soon." I said. I waved my hand and saw darkness than I was standing in my malls jewelry store. I walked to the desk. "Here to pick up a necklace."
"What's the name for.." The girl looked up and saw who it was. "Nevermind. Be right back." The girl came out a minute later with a gold box. "Here you go."
"Thanks." I said as I paid for the necklace. "Merry Christmas." I waved my hand and was next to Augustus again.
He didn't expect me and I scared him to the point he fell down. "Jesus Christ Caleb what the hell?!" He said as he got back up.
"Hey it happens. I got the gift so let's go get the girls." I said.
We went to find the girls and we found them at the food court waiting for us.
"Took you long enough." Ashley said.
"Sorry but I had to go back to the other city for something." I said. "So let's eat."
We ate lunch and than said bye to Augusus and Alesa. I shadow traveled us back to my house. We put gifts under the tree and than just enjoyed the rest of the day before going to bed.
**Christmas Morning**
I woke up. It was Christmas! I woke up Ashley and we went down stairs. I was in my winter camo pajamas and she was in her pajamas. We opened up our gifts to eachother. She got me a some throwing knives for combat and a machete.
I gave her my present to her and her eyes lit up. It was a diamond and gold necklace with a ruby in the middle. She got up and gave me a kiss and said she loved it.
I got changed into my clothes for the rest of the day, a plaid red and black shirt with a black hoodie with jeans and my vans. She changed into jeans, a pink shirt and some vans.
Matthew, Cayden, Wyatt and everyone all came in a hour later. We all had breakfast that I made and exchanged gifts. I got a khopesh sword from Wyatt and Rachel, a throwing axe from Matthew and Courtney, shield from Cayden and Samantha and Charles threw me a set of keys.
"What are these for?" I asked.
"Go outside on the roof and press the button." He said.
I went out and pressed the button and a few minutes later a helicopter landed on my roof. It was black in red had my Void symbol.
"Holy shit!" I said. "Charles your the best! Did you get these for everyone?"
"All the guys yeah." He said. "So essentially yeah since you all pretty much live with eachother."
"Thanks man." I said.
We finished opening presents. Wyatt got some throwing knives and a new sword. Matthew got a new axe and shield. Cayden got a some new arrows that Matthew said were modded to do cool stuff and a dagger.
Finally I gave them my secret presents. Enchanted staffs that were designed for our abilities. I asked the tech guys to make these for us. I had the shadows bring them to me and I gave them out.
Matthew took one look and jumped up. "Caleb these look like the ones from Black Ops Zombies. Are they actually elemental?" He said
"Close. Each staff is designed for our abilities." I said. "Charles' actually sends out a sonic pulse that'll paralyze mobs and shoots kinetic enegry. Wyatt's your shoots lightning and wind like the staffs in Black Ops. Matthews yours shoots ice, high powered water and winds. Cayden yours shoots fire and concussive beams of light. Mine shoots dark bolts that destroy the target, will have the shadows rip apart the mobs and also can create tornadoes."
"Still the Wind King?" Matthew said.
"You know it. Now let's enjoy the rest of the day." I said.
We ate breakfast and dinner and spent the day together laughing around and having fun. Finally we all just kinda passed out. It was the best Christmas I've ever had.
