Your POV
It was the middle of the year. You had moved back to Japan after 7 years. Being the new student was the worst. You were a second year at Nekoma. It was your first day going to school. You got up 30 minutes before your alarm went off do to your nerves. Which honestly gave you extra time to get ready for school and get to school without getting lost which somewhat relaxed your nerves. You got up out of bed and threw your hair up in a messy bun/put a headband on. You weren't big on makeup, but you thought some concealer might be nice to hide the bags under your eyes from jet lag. You put your uniform on and did your hair. You walked downstairs and ate a bowl of rice and miso soup for breakfast. You packed your bento for the day. On your way out, you grabbed the house keys, your bag, and your tennis shoes. You weren't really interested in joining a club yet, but back in America you were one of the best runners on the cross country team and the long distance track and field team. It wouldn't hurt to get a work out in.You walked out the door, locking it. Both your parents had already left for work. You grabbed your phone, and pulled up directions to your new school. Before you started walking you heard a strange noise behind you. "Oya?" You turned around to see a very tall boy with the worst bed head walking towards you with a boy with pudding hair next to him playing on some gaming console. They started to walk towards you. "Ummmmm... hi?." You said confused on who these people were. "Hey I've never seen you here before, but you've got our uniform on. Are you new here?" The boy with bed head purred out. 10/10 he's a player. "Kuroo leave her alone." The one with pudding hair said. You decided to respond to bed head's question, or Kuroo actually I guess. "Yeah I'm new here." "Oooohhh. What year are you? Oh and what class?" Kuroo didn't purr this out. I guess because pudding head put him in place. "I'm a second year. Class 2-A. And my name is (L/N) (Y/N)." "You hear that Kenma. She's in the same class as you." Ohh so his name is Kenma. You turned around looking back down at your phone. Kuroo caught up after you while Kenma still lagged. "Why don't I just show you the way instead of GPS?" Kuroo offered. You nodded your head. It couldn't be that bad.
Oh we're you soooo wrong. I mean Kenma he was great. He just played on his console, and he didn't say anything. But Kuroo. Oh god. Everything was an interrogation. You're pretty sure he knows more about you now, than you know about yourself. You got to your classroom. You introduced yourself to your teacher and waited for the bell to ring. The class quieted down and stared at you in aw. "Good morning class. As you can probably tell we have a new student," she looked at you, "please introduce yourself. You nodded. "Hey there I'm (Y/N) (L/N). Oh wait whoops sorry. I'm (L/N) (Y/N). I just moved back from America. Please take good care of me." You bowed your head and smiled at the class. The teacher looked back at you, "You can sit next to Kenma. Kenma can you raise your hand." He did so and you spotted him quite fast. The seat wasn't bad it was the second row, third seat. It would be a good seat to learn from, but a bad seat if you got bored.
Classes flew by and at lunch everyone was eager to get to know you. So overall the day was a success. Your last class of the day was PE. This made it easy for you to just go straight to the gym you passed by on the way into the school. You wanted to get some type of workout in. And since you were new to the school you weren't in the cleaning rotation yet. So, you were free to go. The bell rand you grabbed your stuff and ran to the gym. You were just going to do a sprint and ab workout, but you saw a volleyball and decided to mess around with it a bit. No one was in there any way, so you assumed it was fine. You started by setting to yourself than you would spike it to the wall. You would receive it set to yourself and spike again. You kept doing that over and over again. This reminded you of when you used to practice with your old friend Daichi. You missed him and wondered how he was and if he still played volleyball.
You didn't notice the door had crept open. A bunch of tall guys came in laughing their asses off at some joke. And of course you were so into this set, spike, receive routine that you didn't notice until you heard Kuroo say "Ohoho. (L/N) I didn't know you were good at volleyball." When the ball came back you caught it instead of receiving it. You turned around to see a whole volleyball team. "Okay one call me (Y/N). All of you." You looked at all the boys. "It's weird to be called (L/N). Second, I think this ball belongs to you. Have fun at practice." You started to walk past the guys when Kuroo turned around and said "(Y/N), why don't you stay and help us practice?" You thought about it. Well, you did need to get a workout in. You sighed. "Alright." Kuroo cheered. What they didn't realize is your receives would be better than any they had ever seen. Even better than Yaku's. While Daichi had taught you the basics, in America, your best friend decided she want to play volleyball. You spent hours with her helping her learn how to play. From all her failing you could receive anything from anywhere on the court. Your sets and spikes had become exceptional too. Well your sets less for these guy because your sets were toward your 5'4" friend all these guys are crazy tall. You honestly had fun though. You didn't realize yet though your entanglement with the team would lead you into some adventures with the team and maybe back to an old friend.
