Booker's POV
"NIA, HURRY UPPPP!" I scream at my sister. We already missed breakfast at school. Now we're about to be late all together if she doesn't hurry up.
"Booker, don't rush your sister now. You know how she is." Mom says
"Yes but mom she's so slow. I mean who really cares about what she wears." I say annoyingly
"People who care and have great fashion sense Booker." Nia says finally coming out of her room.
"Ugh finally, lets go." I say trying to walk out the door.
"Ah ah ah, wait a minute. Don't forget tomorrow you two have to go across to our neighbors and introduce yourselves." Mom says
I pause at the door and turn around confused. "We have neighbors...since when?"
Mom rolls her eyes before answering "Like two months ago. Apparently you two don't pay attention to your surroundings. They also have a daughter that's the same age as you two? I think she goes to your school too. When you go and greet them make sure you greet her too. I don't think she has any friends here."
Me and Nia look at each other and roll our eyes. " Of course mom. We'll get on that." We both respond.
"Good! Now go on and do your thing at school. I'll see you later." Mom said going to her room

At school
The car ride was so annoying. Nia kept going on and on about this girl who creeps her out in her class. She says the girl doesn't speak to anyone and always sits by herself. Apparently she punched Zeena in the face once for asking her what she was doing here. From what I know about Zeena, she probably deserved it. That girl is nothing but trouble. However this mystery girl, I wonder who she is.
We enter school and I looked at my watch. I had twenty minutes before my next class.
"Hey Nia, I think I'm gonna head to the gym and practice shooting some hoops." I say to her.
"You mean your gonna practice skills you don't have." Nia said jokingly with a smirk on her face.
" Whatever, have fun in your class. Try not to get punched by this weird girl." I say getting back at her. Before walking away.
I enter the gym and start to play basketball. In the way of trying to make a shot I ended up missing the hoop and the ball ended up hitting this girl right in the face.
"Owwww!" She says as she bits the floor.
"Oh my gosh, are you okay? I'm sorry I..."
" Do I look okay to you stupid! What's wrong with you."she says cutting me off.
I look at her confused. " What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you? You were the one who got in the ball's way."
"Yea, I'm the reason I have a bloody nose now. Are you really this dumb?" She says really angry.
" Whatever, are you okay?" I ask her still worried.
She glares at me "You're so... ughhh! Whatever just stay out of my way!"
I had enough of her attitude. "Seriously, What's your problem? Matter fact, who are you?" I ask her thinking about how I've never seen her before.
"My problem is you. Just do me a favor and leave me alone. As to who I am, do t worry about it." She said walking off.
"No problem. That's the last time I ask you if you're okay. I don't want to deal with someone like you anyway." I say really frustrated.
She stops walking for a second as if she was processing what I said, before she started to walk off again. "Good." She scoffed.
I don't understand. I understand I hit her in the face with a ball but I tried to apologize! It's not my fault she don't know how to take them. I don't even know who she is. She must be a new girl or something. She still didn't have to be so rude. Who does that!
As I leave out the gym, I check my watch. Oh no! I'm late for class. Between sitting here arguing with that girl and thinking about what happened, I'm now twenty minutes late to class. Ughh, I officially don't like that girl. Hopefully I won't have to see her again.
