It's been a day since Saiki last saw Killua, Ban and Gowther, and completed the game with them. After Saiki got isekai'd, he decided to live his life exactly the same as he always had. Nothing changed.
"Ku? Is something wrong?" His mother's voice broke into his thoughts.
"No." He stabbed the coffee jelly.
"Kusuo! Tell us what's on your mind!" His father grinned, and pat him on the shoulder.
"I'm going to school." He cleared his plate, and left the house. Still going over the recent events in his mind.
"Hey buddy!" Nendo swung his arm over Saiki's shoulder. For a moment, Saiki almost smiled at seeing his friends again, but he stopped himself.
"Hello Saiki, I've recently been noticing a disturbance in the air. IT MUST BE THE DARK REUNION! THEY'RE COMING!"
"Oh yeah, sorry about that...." Nendo laughed.
"That's gross! You're so immature!"(I'm sorry, who's immature?) Kaido and Nendo began to quarrel, and Saiki continued to walk to school in silence.
"Hi Saiki!" Teruhashi ran up to them.
"Oh wow! Hey there Teruhashi!" Nendo smiled sheepishly.
"T-T-Teruhashi!" Kaido stuttered.
'Look at them, getting all flustered around me! Well, it's only natural, since I am the perfect pretty girl. Hm... something seems different about Saiki, he seems older....' Teruhashi thought.
Saiki had always known she was observant, but this, this was really something else. He was impressed, but he'd never tell her that. Knowing her, she'd take it the wrong way and that would be annoying. The four of them entered school together.
~Time skip~
It was lunchtime, and for a while now, Saiki had felt someone watching him. He knew it wasn't one of the students, because none of their thoughts stood out to him. It had to be someone outside his telepathy range. He decided that he would have to check it out after school, if he could get Nendo and Kaido to go somewhere else.
"Good grief, I can never catch a break." He sighed, before putting away his lunch. It had been awhile (for him) since he'd last eaten in the bathroom, but he didn't need pity, it was better to eat here rather than in the cafeteria, because it was easier to think, and collect his thoughts.
~Another time skip~
Afterschool, Saiki tried to leave as quickly as possible. But, as always nothing went smoothly for him. Once he left the class, he lied and said he had to talk to a teacher about something. So far, so good. Naturally, Nendo and Kaido said they would wait. It was annoying, but it shouldn't of been anything he couldn't handle.
He went to the bathroom, and stayed there for about 20 minutes. After waiting this long, any normal person would've just left. None of the people Saiki knew were normal. They didn't leave. Nendo and Kaido checked the teachers office, and found he wasn't there. He took this opportunity to change his shoes and get his things. Just as everything was going smoothly, and he was about to teleport away, he saw blue hair approaching him.
He recognized that blue hair.
Anyone could recognize that blue hair.
It was Teruhashi's. The one person who could come close to beating him.
"Saiki~" She sang, and ran over to him. "I forgot something at school, what are you still doing here?" Luckily, Saiki had an excuse.
"I was talking to a teacher." He closed his locker and began to walk away.
"Since we're both here, why don't we walk home together?" She smiled. Saiki couldn't say no, afterall, even though it was late, there were still people in the building, and if he turned her down, he'd have hell to pay.
He sighed and nodded.
'Of course he'd nod, what else could he possible do when the perfect pretty girl asks him to walk home together? Nothing! There's no other option! Right?' Teruhashi beamed.
'He's not here... I guess I'll just go back to the lockers then.' Kaido thought.
Saiki began to speed up his walking pace.
"Saiki, wait!" Teruhashi tried to match his pace. 'Why is he walking so fast? Wouldn't anyone want to savour this moment? I know! He's so shocked that any girl would want to walk home with it, that he doesn't know how to react! He's even looking around nervously!' Teruhashi assured herself.
'Where is he? Where is he?' The 'he' Saiki was referring to, was Nendo. Since Saiki couldn't read Nendo's mind, he had no idea where he was. He could be anywhere. Just like a cockroach. Saiki shuddered at the memory of the dorms in UA. UA... a smile almost appeared on his face while he thought of the time he spent in UA. Almost.
Thankfully, Saiki managed to successfully evade Nendo and Kaido. 'Two down, one to go.' He thought.
"Where are you going?" Teruhashi asked, when she noticed that Saiki was no longer heading in the direction of his house.
"I have something to do today." He stated vaguely, yet seriously.
"Oh. Okay then, see you tomorrow!" Luckily, she seemed to pick up on his seriousness. She just waved, and they both went their separate ways.
Saiki headed in the direction he felt the glare coming from. While he was formulating his plan to get rid of the leeches-I mean his friends, he hadn't thought at all about how he was actually going to find the man.
Thoughtography wouldn't work, he'd never seen him before, clairvoyance worked the same way. He sighed at the thought of all this wasted time, all the coffee jelly he could've eaten. He closed his eyes mournfully, and returned to his house.
Once he teleported into his room, immediately, he noticed that something was off. 'Oh No. No. No. No. No. Not you.' He thought as he dashed downstairs. There he stood. One of the most annoying people in existence.
"Hello Kusuo." An all too familiar voice chimed.
"Kusuke."
