"Quinn! Quinn! Wait up!" Santana called from behind.Quinn turned around, looking rather amused at the Latina literally sprinting across the hallway like a child. Santana caught up, grabbing on to Quinn's arm.
"Hey, so are you going to prom?"
"Well, nobody has asked me yet, and I don't want to go alone so.. I don't think so," Quinn replied. Actually, several boys have asked her to prom, but she turned everyone of them down. Why? She didn't really know herself, some were even kind and handsome gentlemen.
"Seriously? I find that hard to believe. I mean, you're Quinn Fabray, the most beautiful girl in school," She complimented, causing Quinn to tingle inside. "But anyway, guess what!?"
"What?" She laughed as she glanced at Santana, who was smiling and blushing.
"Brittany Pierce asked me to prom!"
A frown immediately grew upon the blonde's face when she heard her best friend break the news. Brittany Pierce was not good enough for Santana, or so Quinn thought.
"What's with the face, Q?" She asked. "I thought you'd be happier than that."
The words caused Quinn to snap out of it, and only then she realized the expression she was making.
"N-No! I'm happy - yes, very happy for you, San but," There was that disapproving but again. "Brittany Pierce? She's a bad girl.. nice girls like us don't mix well with badasses like her."
"But that's what makes her so hot.. and cute.. and funny.. and charming-"
"Where is this coming from? Wait, do you have a crush on her?" Just thinking about it made Quinn sick to her stomach, like somehow, Santana having a crush on anyone affected her. Maybe it was because they were best friends, she thought.
"Well..," Santana sighed.
"Oh my god, you do have a crush on her!" The other friend gasped. "I can't believe-I just-why do you even-"
"Okay, Quinn, Quinn just hear me out. I know I never really talk about Brittany that much, but you know that I always found her attractive. Anyway, so we were in math class - which, she usually doesn't attend - and she was sitting behind me and she leaned in to whisper something and guess what she told me?" She grinned so brightly as she rambled, then she literally waited for Quinn to guess.
"Uh, she wanted to go to prom with you."
"No, not yet. She told me that she came to math class just for me, isn't that so sweet?"
The blonde nodded, but didn't really agree.
"And then, when we walked out of class, she handed me a paper and when I opened it, it said 'prom? Do a backflip if yes, wink at me if no' and it was written in crayon - she's so cute." Santana smiled to herself and seemed to be on cloud nine.
"Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? You do the harder thing if 'no', that way it eliminates the chances of you saying no? I mean, you can't even do a backflip."
"What do you mean? I get flipped all the time at Cheerios practice, I'll just get a few people to flip me-"
"Why are you even into Brittany?" Quinn asked but she immediately regretted it. It made her sound almost jealous, and so she finished explaining, hoping her friend didn't get the wrong idea. "Sure she's pretty, but she's.. a total slut and a criminal. I heard the other day she threatened to kill Figgins when he told her she had to follow dress code."
"What? No, Brittany isn't that.. bad.. those are just rumors, which you should really stop spreading them, Q." She sighed. "Can't you just pretend to be the supportive best friend?"
