----------------------------------------

I clutched my school books in my hand like my life depended on it. Hell, my life did depend on it. This was my last year of high school, and if I played my cards right, I'll be out of here in no time and off to college. Goodbye to these losers.

I walk through the halls trying to find my way. It's my first year at a new school and I'm a senior... great. I'll fit in lovely here.

Damn my mother!!! If her and my father got along, I wouldn't have to move all the way to New York City. Sure I love the city, I was just to lazy to pack and move halfway across the country, I used to live in Vegas.

I finally find my locker and I open it to set up my stuff. Not that easy. I see a girl walk over to me, and I'm immediately annoyed. I'm an expert at figuring out people. I take one look at her and I get my whole analysis in two seconds.

She is a goody-two-shoe, always does the right thing, cant keep a secret, thinks shes cool, leader of the student council... but worst of all...

She's overly nice.

I pretend that I'm busy and cant talk, but as luck doesn't like me, she ignores all signs and speaks.

"Hey! My name is Stacey and I'm the leader of the student council. I'll be showing you around today" she smiles. "I just know we'll be best friends!"

I put on my best fake smile and follow her. She shows me the whole school and then to the office to pick up her new schedule. She says she copied mine so we can be together. Of coarse she did.

I look down at my schedule an see what classes I have.

Home Room: Mrs.Venice

Choir: Ms.Evelyn

Art: Mr. Arnold

Math: Mr.Lontross

Social Studies: Mrs.Adonette

Science: Ms.Jacqueline

Language Arts: Ms. Madison

"Seems like an easy schedule." I tell Stacey. Might as well get to know her if shes going to be up my ass all day.

"It is! Just don't get in trouble with Mrs.Venice, our home room teacher. One screw up and your being sent to the principals office.. and trust me...... you don't want to meet Mr.Styles." I can tell shes not joking in the slightest judging by her facial expression.

"Hes the principal right? Why, whats wrong with him?" I ask cautiously.

"I don't know, I've never gotten in trouble" she smiles bragging. I roll my eyes. "I just heard from around the school." she says.

We both walk into the home room and its just boring stuff. I don't even remember half the thing she said the last 10 minutes, though I probably should have, because everyone else gets out a text book and starts working. I lean over to Stacey and say

"What are we doing?" I ask panicking. Mrs. Venice is looking up from her work proving I need to work on my whispering skills. Stacey looks at me disappointing-like as if to say 'you should have been listening'

"Please! I can't mess up on the first da-"

"Excuse me young lady! You're new here aren't you? Well if you haven't heard I don't tolerate talking."

"I know, or else you wouldn't be yelling." I retaliate. Her eyes go wide and so does everyone else. Fuck! Me and my big mouth.

"Well you just earned yourself a ticket to the principals office."She walks to me, hands me a office slip and opens the door for me.

"Thanks." I say sarcastically and smile. God, I really need to get a filter, but I just can't stand mean teachers.

I walk down the hall glad that I stood up to her, but my confidence soon fades as I reach the supposedly terrifying "Mr.Styles" office. I chuckle to myself. He's probably in his 60's, fat and old-fashioned. I suddenly don't feel so scared...

That is until I open the door.
