"I know your secret," Kira declared to an all-but empty dormitory.

Lydia didn't bother looking up from her book. Both girls were lying on their stomachs, reading.

"Do you." Lydia toyed with a lock of her hair in boredom.

"Mmmhmmm."

"And what secret is that?"

"I know that you almost snogged Stilinski."

Lydia froze halfway through flipping a page.

"What?" she choked out. "I never-"

"Save it, Lyds. I saw you." Kira abandoned her book and sat up to face her friend.

The room was silent as a graveyard for a full minute.

"Exactly how much did you see?" Lydia asked in a small voice.

"I saw enough," Kira replied simply.

"Oh."

There was another lengthy pause.

"Please don't tell Lia."

"Why would I do that?" asked Kira, flopping onto her back. "Something like this was bound to happen eventually."

"I didn't mean it," Lydia said defensively. "And it's not like I was the one who tried to snog him..."

"Lydia," Kira said patiently, "I'm not... having a go at you. That's not what this is. But you do need to know that... I'm sorry, but you can't do stuff like that."

"Excuse me?"

"Look, all I'm saying is that you've been acting a bit... odd. Around him lately. I mean, I've had people come up and ask me if you were... Cora, for example. You know, the Hufflepuff? She asked me if I knew that someone had seen you two..." Kira trailed off, sighing before finishing the sentence. "There are a lot of rumors."

"Fan-fucking-tastic," Lydia muttered darkly. "That's just perfect."

"Well, I mean, I told her the truth, you know. That you guys aren't together. At all. And she accepted it pretty easily, come to think of it."

"Yeah, I overheard her talking to her friend about him once. Erica Reyes? Maybe she thinks that she has a shot now."

"To bad that she doesn't," Kira snickered. "He's very clearly got eyes for someone else."

"Whatever," Lydia muttered, turning faintly pink. "Anyway, you're not exactly innocent after last night either, missy. When were you planning on telling me about what happened between you and Lia after the Halloween party?"

"Oh. That." Kira cleared her throat uncomfortably. "It wasn't really a big deal, Lyds. Besides, we figured Ally must have told you."

"Allison knew too?! Am I the last one to know everything around here or what?"

"Yes. You are," Kira replied simply.

"So... what exactly happened, then?"

"Um..." Kira giggled self consciously. "I'm not really sure. I mean, we were really drunk, and so we came up here to sort of sober up a bit. And we were on Lia's bed, and... I just... kissed her. And it just sort of went from there. I think she was quite embarrassed about it, later. She doesn't like to talk about it."
